We have visited other Navy ships and think this was the best. It is a huge ship and took us 2 hours to see it. They have docents scattered throughout the ship and guided tours on weekends. There is a free audio guide that it too soft and hard to hear but useful and worth taking. There are lots of... More

Whether you are in NJ or visiting Philadelphia across the river, you MUST visit her. It is an experience and education you will never forget! I thought it would be a 2 hour visit, we spent 3, but should have taken more time but it closes at 5pm. This can be part of a mini vacation for the whole family.... More

We went to visit Battleship NJ in the morning, thinking we would be there for a couple of hours...three at the most. Little did we know...this ship is HUGE. We were there until 2 pm and that is because we rushed through the latter part of the self-guided tour. Battleship NJ is HUGE, while I do not know about the... More

We are stationed in New Jersey and after visiting the Aquarium we walked over to see the Battleship. It is definitely something to see, to walk around the ship is wonderful the children loved it. It is however not for strollers so be prepared to carry the little ones quite a bit :)

Family took kids there - were very impressed and received a lot of personal attention. Questions answered quickly; the people who work here really love this ship. If you have seen pictures of the Iowa class Battleships (the New Jersey, the Iowa, the Missouri, and the Wisconsin), you know that even 70 years old, they're beautiful and modern. And they're... Friendly and courteous staff. A very knowledgeable guide kept our group entertained. For those interested in these kinds of things, it was like walking through a part of living history. Even if a WWII warship isnt your kind of thing, I imagine the views alone would be enough of a reason to tag along.

Arranged overnight encampment aboard the USS New Jersey in Camden. NJ, actually docked on the Delaware River. No one under the age of 6 is allowed. Pre-arranged two day stay aboard the ship. The ship is retied from active naval service but the ship is basically the same condition as the day it left the Navy, otherwise step stairs (ladders)... More

The ship is in an excellent condition and is a gem to see. Be aware that Philadelphia tourist guides won't mention the ship because it is located across the Delaver river in Camden, NJ. The get to the ship take the PATHCO train from Philadelphia (the nearest stop is 8th/Market str), exit at the City Hall station (the first station... More

Admittedly I have the interest of a WWII history buff, as well as a fascination with warships of any era. But this only sets my bar higher for satisfaction. The New Jersey exceeded my expectations. This is a worthwhile floating museum to see something that can scarcely be imagined. Very enjoyable.

My family and family friends went to check out the Battleship New Jersey this morning and it was really neat. While it looks kind of small from far away, once you get up close (and even more so when you're on it and inside it), you realize how massive the ship really is. It was interesting to see what life... More
