Only 4 Iowa class ships built. Truly an engineering marvel, hard to believe 3000 sailors and marines lived on board during WWII. Parking is close by and accessible. Great views of Philly across the river. A little bit of climbing and the 16" gun turret is a tight squeeze. Well worth the effort

We stayed at the courtyard Marriott at the old Navy Yard in summer of 2014. Marriott was brand new and only 15 minutes away from the Battleship New Jersey. The old Navy yard is converted into a corporate park but still has some ships docked there. The battleship New Jersey was a very impressive battle ship! We loved walking on... More

Sleepover with Cub Scouts of America. The NJ's staff is very well organized for sleepovers. For those with experience on board USN ships sleepovers bring back memories. For those experiencing this "treat" for the first time, they may find the "accommodations" loud, cramped and uncomfortable. The Battleship itself is spectacular. The ship continues to open up more spaces to visitors.... More

These tours are self guided now. For an additional $4 you can rent a player that you punch in a number at each stop and it tells you information. I though this was worth the $4. Lots of good information. Use bathroom at gift shop cause as far as I found out the only one on the ship was just... More

If you never been on a battleship before this is the one to see, It's an easy day for you pay your fee, board and follow a red line. You do have to come do a little bit of climbing up and down steep stairs. The tour takes a couple hours and if you follow the line it takes you... More

Our most decorated warship (19 battle stars earned between 1943-1991) is now permanently moored at Camden NJ waterfront. You can drive (plenty of parking, $10) or take the Riverlink Ferry ($7 per person round trip) from Penn's landing, a better choice because you will have more dining and shopping options at the Landing than in Camden. Full tour fee is... More

Seeing the Battleship New Jersey in person is awestruck. Just being able to see a piece of history is priceless.

Took the Ferry to the Camden side from Penn's Landing. Fee $7.00 adult. Ferry was smooth, breezy and only took under 10 minutes. As soon as you disembark, turn right and have over a 10 minute walk. For me, it took more, limping and all but did not mind. Enjoyed the slips of private boats in the inlet and views.... More

This ship was awesome! However, there was MUCH climbing of ladders and stooping low through doorways. Beautiful ship, thou. Worth the effort. At five stories, lots, and LOTS of stairs, actually more like ladders...
