Great place to visit near Philly area. Of course the hippos were adorable but the aquarium is very large and so much to see -- areas broken down - so do in chucks if you have little ones. Lots to see and beautiful setting on the river... I've been to alot of aquariums but this one is by far my... More

This place was full of kids. Actually this place is fun for them only though. The aquarium is not a very big one and not much to see as well. It can be covered in 60-70 mins. The boston aquarium is a much better visit. Can be visited only if you are in the area. Not worth making an effort... More

Hubby, Myself, our Daughter & Granddaughter decided to take a trip to the Aquarium during the cold days of this winter! It was very interesting! The exhibits were well labeled & easy to see! Our granddaughter even had a beautiful butterfly done at the face painting booth! Very reasonably priced! We made it through everything except the dinosaurs...we were just... More

The exhibits were pretty good, but the customer service and any planning was lacking. Starting from the opening when there was a line of people waiting to buy tickets that backed up into the parking lot and they only had one person selling tickets at opening. Same thing at the gift shop 10 registers throughout the store but only one... More

We have gone to the aquarium about once a year for a few years now, but this year decided to get season passes. They have a good variety of sea life to see, a variety of displays, and for a large place with a LOT of traffic, is really quite clean. A great place to bring the kids. Big enough... More

So let me start by saying that this isn't the best aquarium that I have visited, but it is certainly worth a visit if you are in the area and you like aquariums (like I was and do!). The riverfront with the view of downtown Philadelphia probably stole the show for us, but let me talk about the aquarium... Good... More

When we visited technical complications prevented us from watching the 4D Dinosaurs of the Deep presentation. They had a wide variety of interesting specimens including sharks, sea turtles, stingrays (you could pet), an octopus, jelly fish, and hippos. Worth a few hour walkthrough. I've written a more extensive review with pictures on my blog.

While I enjoyed my time at the Adventure Aquarium, I found myself wondering if the venture there had been worth it. First the trip in on public transit from Philadelphia was stressful. The train ride itself was easy, but walking to the aquarium from the station was unnerving. I didn't feel like I was in a terribly safe neighbourhood. But... More

Come bring the kids on this adventure. What a great aquarium and petting zoo. Come pet the sting rays, sharks, and all kinds of other awesome water dwellers. The Penguin Park was outstanding but additional cost of $4 per kid. Worth it. The shark tank is also stellar. The Rhino tank was totally unprecedented. Eat before you come and save... More

If you have not seen how graceful hippos can be in the water, then this is a must. View them swimming through windows below the water level. I only marked this average because of its limited collection and somewhat heavy reliance on models. The Atlanta Aquarium has spoiled me.
