My wife Donna and I went to LBI for a short vacation August 2014. As a special treat for her (and me!), I arranged for a masseuse and masseur to come to our room at our motel/inn and give us massages. It was heaven -- my first massage. Donna, a veteran of massages, put this one at the top of... More

LBI is great, not overcrowded, beautyful beaches - but... the regulations at beach are worse than in prison. Swimming? Only allowed at small overcrowed places - the rest of the beahc is empty. The life guards are whistling all the times, even when your kids step into the water at the beginning and thats not in the "allowed area". Playing... More

Nice beaches but the beaches are private so you have to pay daily or weekly depending on your stay. Great children's activities. Like the amusement park and pirate ship.

NO BATHROOMS!!! No place to rinse off, no food or drink stands or vendors, no swimming in front of where you made camp because its only allowed in the designated areas and oh yea you pay $7 a person!!! For what are you paying for!!? There's no signs indicating there's any fees or that it's cash only. The beach is... More

I have been vacationing on Long Beach Island since 1970, ever since my 3 girlfriends and I were looking for a beautiful beach, within close proximity to the Bronx, that was also affordable. It did not disappoint and continues to provide all the wonderful things we look for in a relaxing vacation. Over the past 44 years we have seen... More

No crazy crowds, no commercial boardwalk extravaganza, pure beach atmosphere. Beaches are clean, very family friendly and you can go to the shore and come back without blowing a hole in your wallet. The downside which can be a big deterrent is lack of easy access to public restrooms and showers. There is a guide online , pretty easy to... More

The title line, sung to the tune of "There's No Business like Show Business), is quoted often by local summer residents and it says it all. Beach Haven is at the southern end of Long Beach Island, which is a wonderful barrier island "6 miles at sea" off the Pine Barren shores of New Jersey. The northern end of Long... More

If you have not yet been to LBI, put your computer down, and get yourself there!! LBI had many towns all with their own flair. I particularly like the north end of the island, which tends to be less developed and quieter, from Harvey Cedars all the way to Barnaget Light. Beautiful uncrowded beaches, lots of bike riding, walking the... More
