Went in the off season. Great place to sit, view the ocean and inlet. Love the nature walk. The park and lighthouse were free. The view today was fantastic and the temp was ideal. Had a picnic lunch.

Very pretty park with walking paths along the ocean, its free, plenty of parking. We went off season so the visitor center and lighthouse were closed. Would have loved to climb th elighthouse to see the view.

Located at the nothern end of LBI, the Barnegat lighthouse is really worth a visit. The state park is free, with plenty of parking. There is a visitor center with exibits. We climbed the lighthouse for free and were glad we did because it offers great views of LBI and the ocean. All the way up, you can read about... More

Beautiful view from the top of the lighthouse, and interesting bits of history posted after every 25-30 steps.

Visited on holiday so visitor center closed. One of our group ventured up the stairs of the lighthouse. Nice walk on fenced concrete walkway. Lots of fishermen and families.

In addition to climbing the steps or just enjoying the design, walk out to the water and take a close look at the churning current around the lighthouse...an interesting and dangerous place to be. Interesting history surrounding this lighthouse...if you like lighthouses this is another unique one that's taller than others! A must see at the north end of the... More

We haven't been here in years and it was great to visit again. I came to "Old Barney" for the first time when I was nine years old, and I was amazed at how tall and beautiful this lighthouse was. It is still impressive after so many years, and my six year-old loved it, too. He enjoyed reading the signs... More

Beautiful scenic area on LBI. If your looking for a nice family photo opportunity go to Barnegate Light House at sunset- its gorgeous! They have dirt trails, or you can take a stroll on the cement pathway along the water. Here you will find fisherman and a view of where the bay meets the ocean. In the evenings you will... More
