This was a lovely day and what a nice view. It is a must to see while visiting LBI. We were on bikes. The parking lot is plentiful and the lighthouse is well maintained.

The lighthouse was very specticular. It is so very tall, and the surrounding walkway with seats was a great surprise. Fun to explore and photograph.

Climbing to the top of the lighthouse is tight (and costs a dollar or two) but the view is incredible. There's also a nice hiking trail at the bottom of the lighthouse (although it's short) and other paths along the water.

A nice clean park to visit. A classic lighthouse constructed by General George Meade of Gettysburg fame. There is a small visitor's center and great views from the top. If you are a Geo-Cacher there are several in the area.

Beautiful area of New Jersey. Nice jetty walkway. Popular spot for fishing and birding. Great visibility from the lighthouse. Short trails through maritime forest. Long walk to the beach but well worth the scenic walk. Small, but nice interpretive visitor center.

I am happy that the State of NJ decided to preserve the location of ‘Old Barney’. You can picnic by the inlet on the well placed tables. Fish from the rocks of the jetty. Walk the well signed nature trail. Use the Park as a starting point to stroll the beach. And if you are up for it, climb the... More

The park has plenty of parking spaces for cars and bikes. The facilities were clean and well marked. There is so much history here, and the information was very interesting. Get ready for a GREAT cardio workout as you climb the 200+ stairs to the top. You definitely won't need to go to the gym that day! Views are unparalleled.... More

Old Barney is the best state park in NJ. The history of this great lighthouse dates back to pre-civil war and has a connection with Civil War Lt George Meade. Great fishing, beach and things for the family to do.
