We went up to American Stonehenge this afternoon for a Sunday escapade after hearing about this place from a friend. What a disappointment! After reading great things about America's Stonehenge, we went to visit our backyard venue. It was interesting but not as thrilling as I expected it to be. The ruins were well preserved but felt disconnected from the entrance museum/shop. I did not feel it was worth the entrance fee. more

America's Stonehenge is a very interesting stop but the mapquest directions to this place weren't even close. Not terribly interesting. On the trail map it gives very little information about the actual people that built these things except the people in the 1800s. Not many things are certain, but "believed" to be or happened. I would use this as a last resort if your really bored and have a coupon. more

Some think it could have been the Canaanites... more
