We went in late September and didn't think there would be a great demand, but we had to get on the waiting list! Well worth waiting; a spot opened up and we had a great time. The narrator/boat driver was very knowledgable and spoke just the right amount of time - not too much but enough to feel you learned... More

The harbor cruise is a nice cruise that lasts a little over an hour which is just the right amount of time and for a very reasonable fee. The boat is small with plenty of seating inside the cabin and out. The captain narrates the trip and is informative. There is plenty to see - naval yard, lighthouses, islands. We... More

This 1 1/4 hour narrated cruise through Portsmouth Harbor takes you through 400 years of local and American history. I especially liked the history of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and the role it played during the war. A wonderful way to spend some time on a hot day! More

I am a big fan of harbor and lake cruises. There are many to enjoy throughout New England. They are fun and often quite inexpensive. Portsmouth, one of my favorite destinations outside of Boston offers at least two cruise lines, the Isles of Shoals Steamship Company and Portsmouth Harbor Cruises. I've enjoyed both often. But, I find that the latter,... More

We drove down from Maine to spend the day in Portsmouth. Decided to take the 1 1/2 hr Harbor cruise. It was a nice ride thru the harbor, past the naval yard and out into more open waters. Saw the often photographed Portsmouth harbor lighthouse and another smaller light. The guide talked throughout the ride about other famous homes, forts... More

We went on this a total of 3 times over a month, Each time, we took a grand child. Each time, something new was offered by the guide, so it was pretty and educational each time. More

Our daughter-in-law had taken student groups on this boat ride and thought we would enjoy it. The ride was lovely and the narrator very knowledgeable. Only disappointment was the fact that we weren't able to get off the boat at the main island. The weather was gray, and it did start raining a bit, but even with the rain, and... More

Great time, not to be missed. The boat only seats 49 people so not crowded at all. Able to buy snacks and beverages on board. Captain is very informative of all the sites to be seen. If you like lighthouses there are plenty to be seen. Make reservation before you get there to make sure you are able to get... More

We took the Isle of Shoals cruise (2.5 hours) today with our 7 and 8-year-old kids and it was a great afternoon! The scenery was beautiful and the captain had interesting stories and bits of history about almost everything we saw. Reservations are highly recommended - our.cruise was sold out a few hours before departure! More
