Local theater at its best

With limited resources, they give a city like show. Highly recommend.a season pass, which is ridiculously inexpensive.

Recently we saw Avenue Q at the theatre. They did a very nice job and we truely enjoyed the evening. Portsmouth has a friendly vibe going and the staff at the theatre maintain it quite well. The production was nicely staged and the acting good. I hope to see another production there in the future.

We went to see South Pacific. The price was decent and the musical was fantastic. The actors did an awesome and believable job with their characters. It is an old theatre, downstairs and not very large, so no matter what you will have a great seat.It had an elevator for those who might need it.

This is small, black box type theater. We just saw Guys & Dolls, very nice experience. Great vocals , one of the leads is off to NYC for her next job. Live music! So fun, very enjoyable.

We saw a 2 person play, it was quite entertaining. Surprisingly 2 actors could be so entertaining. Easy to follow story. I would go back.

My husband and I have been to a few performances at this theatre, and it's always fun. I'm a theatre enthusiast, so I especially like the size of the seating area. Every seat seems close to the stage, similar to "The Other Place" in England's Stratford-upon-Avon. The building is older, a little dark in the lobby, and informal. Some may... More

We made a return visit to this theatre after a ten year break. We we very disappointed at what met us at the front door. The theatre is very run down and the front hallway was a mess. This used to be such a nice place to visit. As for what was on stage, Godspell, a rather outdated production. There... More

A friend and I came here to see "8 Track: Sounds of the 70's" recently. It is a musical review of popular music from the 1970's, complete with platform shoes, bell-bottom pants and flower power. The theater itself is intimate and is built on multi-levels, giving every patron an unobstructed view... though it can be tricky to navigate the steep... More

this is a very small theater, so all the seats are good ones. Be careful if you are lucky enough to sit in the first row, not to knock over a prop like I did, talk about turning red. We can't wait to visit again
