Well it's a boat cruise and we always like being on the water for a few hours on a nice day. It's just a big rather old looking boat, nothing luxurious or special about it other than the fact that there's a bar on every deck. What would have made this special was the live and very knowledgeable narrator telling... More

The speaker was very informative and it was great sight seeing afternoon. They have a few tour options which is nice as well. We were lucky and the weather was beautiful so we could see everything. Great tour and the kids enjoyed it too.

The steam company is well organised. Runs on time. Clean boat. Excellent guide with lively, clear historical information. A pleasant outing worth the money. Gave me the desire to read and learn more about New England area, the history of Salt, Cod, lobster, etc...

I went out to the Isles of Shoals with my 15 year old son and my friend and her son who is 10 years old and everyone absolutely enjoyed them selves. We had beautiful weather. Calm seas for our afternoon trip. The island is beautiful with peaceful places to sit and enjoy the quietness of the ocean sounds. I could... More

We took the 4+ hour harbor cruise and trip out to the Isle of shoals on their larger vessel. The trip included a 1 hour and 45 minute stop at Star Island. First, the weather was great. Sunny and mid 70s and the seas were calm. While the cruise line can't take credit for the weather, I mention it because... More

We went on a last minute cruise on a Sunday evening. The tickets were only $15 each for a 2 hour ride with a band. The views & photo ops can't be beat. I wanted to do the tour of Isles of Shoals which was $28 for 3 hours; but we didn't have time.

Whilst on a 2 week trip to Portsmouth NH, we decided to take the MV Thomas Laughton one sunny afternoon, to do a trip out to the Isles of Shoals. The trip took approximately 3 hours. We walked down to the dock, about 5 mins from Market Square, bought our tickets and got on board. Although the boat has a... More

After living in NH for 60+ years, my wife and I finally decided to visit this part of New Hampshire that we had never visited. On a recent Wednesday morning we took the MV Thomas Laighton out of Portsmouth Harbor to visit Star Island. Parking was very convenient, I parked right on the dock. Having purchased and printed my tickets... More

For years we always have seen the Isles of Shoals from land, and this year we decided to take a trip out to see them. We took the M/V Thomas Laighton boat for a three hour tour narrated "Isles of Shoals & Portsmouth Harbor". The staff was very friendly and helpful, and very knowledgeable of the area. We also lucked... More

the other guests on board had actually stopped talking! One woman even whipped her cell phone out and had a conversation with her mother. The boat we were on (their newest and perhaps smallest) the Celia Thaxter was small and cramped with a bathroom that stopped working halfway through the cruise. Its one thing to have a poor quality microphone... More
