We boarded the ship on a bright and breezy September late afternoon. Heading out of Portsmouth harbour we surveyed the three decks scoping out the best vantage point. Once selected we settled in for a very enjoyable three hours on the water. The boat offers a good amount of occupancy. There is a full bar with local craft beers on... More

We took a half day trip via the Isles of Shoals Steamship Company out of Portsmouth, NH to Star Island. The cruise ship is clean and comfortable and has indoor and outdoor seating. The ride out to the island is approx. an hour and the guides share a lot of history of the area and point out the notable sites... More

We did the lobster clambake dinner cruise. The best part of the dinner was the corn on the cob which was cooked perfectly. The lobsters were boiled and not cleaned at all which totally grossed me out. The best part of the cruise was when dinner was over and we went onto the deck with our drinks to watch the... More

Went for 1/2 day trip to Star Island as a family trip. Lovely trip, friendly staff and clean confortable ship. Perfect short walk around isle for my elderly Mum. Would love to return for an overnight sometime.

Customer service was horrible. The gentleman in the office was rude. We were asking questions about the trip and he asked if we were buying tickets or not. I needed to know if it was a a strenuous walking trip on the island. He didn't bother to answer. Just turned his back to us and got on a computer. So... More

I took a friend on this cruise. I have been on it a number of times before. The staff at the Steamship Co are very nice. The ride out was AMAZING!!! So much to see. It is nice to have a narrater to tell us about the sights we see. The Isles of Shoals is a must!!!! All though, next... More

We took the Isles of Shoals and harbor tour today. As you head out, you get some information on the navy yard and immediate surrounding area (I.e. history of particular buildings, etc). Once past a certain point, the boat goes into fast mode and heads to the islands. There is not much to see at that time. The islands are... More

We tried to get on the sunset wine cruise, but it was sold out, so we settled for a cruise before dinner. It was a bit cool that day, but clear and sunny. Tickets were easy to reserve and the gate opened and we boarded the cruise right on time. We were pleasantly surprised to find they served drinks on... More

Booked tickets ahead of time as recommended on the website. As it turned out, it was foggy & raining on & off but it did not dampen our spirits! The boat was well eqipped with snacks, food & drinks. There was ample room and seating inside & out, both on the lower & upper deck. The speed was comfortable with... More

We've lived in NH for 13 years and I'm afraid to say I have never explored this area. I'd purchased the tickets through an online deal, and paid half price. The narrator of the trip was very knowledgable about the areas toured. The ship itself is very stable, my spouse is very prone to sea sickness, and tolreated this trip... More
