Excellent experience for all ages. Strawbery Banke was one of the first European settlements in the Americas. Although, there is a great deal of information on, restored dwellings related to, the early colonial period , the Museum essentially offers a trip through time. There are dwellings and businesses related to other periods as well. Beautiful restorations in a charming seaside... More

Authenticity. Accurate to the period. Unspoiled. Unlike Colonial Williamsburg these are not models of what ought to be there. A small walkable area near the center of Portsmouth, NH

Went during the evening events at Christmas time and had a good time. Parking is a problem if you arrive too late as you'll have to walk aways to get there

Very thoughtful presentations, "live" characters from time periods, beautiful period homes. And right across the street from the Piscataqua River. Good "living" history.

I LOVE Strawbery Banke Museum. I love their special events, I love all the historic houses & the interactive guides. Its a little bit pricey to get in & I wouldn't go with small children...the tours will be frustrating & dull for them, but its fun for a date, or for homeschoolers. We've done the tours so many times, now... More

Strawbery Banke is one of it's kind. The architecture goes from the 1600's to the fifties with only two buildings having been brought in. The Christmas Candlelight Stroll is not to be missed- beautiful. Most houses have guides in costume- beautiful, well-kept grounds- plenty for children to see and learn from- a great family attraction- it is a continuing work... More
