Whilst travelling in New England we took the opportunity for an overnight stay in North Conway. We decided to go canoeing for the afternoon on the Saco river. Our motel told us about this place so we turned up at lunchtime. We spoke to a lady who talked us through our options giving us loads of helpful advice. They then... More

We had a perfect day for our canoe trip down the Saco! What a wonderful time spent with family and friends, they had both canoes and kayaks so fun for everyone. I only wish they had given us a little more information on what we would encounter on our journey!

1st time in North Conway and was looking forward to kayaking with my fiancé for our anniversary. Started off in great spirits, but were quickly deflated by being greeted by a grumpy old woman. She wouldn't crack a smile even if her life depended on it. She proceeded to just give us the total balance due and go out back... More

We had a great day tubing down the Saco with our 6 and 8 year old. My 6 year old had a tube that was like a small raft (no opening) which was perfect for her. Unfortunately, the river was low, so we did a lot of paddling ourselves and dragging the kids behind. But it was still a very... More

We have used Northern Extremes two years in a row for a kayak trip down the Saco. Despite the recent reviews of poor customer service, we have had the opposite experience both times. The drivers and guys helping out back are pleasant, friendly and chatty when we asked them questions. The fellow out front with the gray beard was honest... More

If I based my review just on staff....I'd give it a 1. The people in the front were busy, I get that and they were as friendly as could be while moving the crowd along. They said the river was low, what they should of said was that you will be walking your canoe...a lot! We then waited down back... More

One day we decided to go out kayaking. It was much more fun than I thought it would be. There are many places to stop and go swimming, in one area, the river was deep enough and there was a log going over it, so we were jumping in the water. We brought some food along with us and had... More

When entering the establishment instead of being warmly greeted, we found that the woman at the cashier was extremely rude. She seemed bothered with our presence, which completely turned my mood around at the beginning of what was supposed to be a nice day. Furthermore, the manner in which she spoke to us was completely unprofessional, and had they not... More

This place has the BEST staff ever. I have been coming here for years with a group and they are always so friendly and so knowledgable. They're fast to get us to the river, always on time to pick us up, and have really good canoes and kayaks for rental that I've personally never had a problem with. I highly... More

Second time here. We had a super fun time. All the staff were super happy and nice. Very reasonable price. Great experience for a relaxing day.
