Northern Extremes accommodated a large group of us as we rented kayaks ($25) for a paddle down the Saco River. The guide drove us to a drop off location. He told us to expect shallow water and suggested we steer either to the right or left in certain locations, but we still got stranded and hung up on the rocks.... More

Arranging our canoe rental was very easy, website was simple to use and we got prompt response to our email enquiries. The store was easy to find, pleanty of parking, a quick ride in their van and we were at a private beach getting in the water! You might be in the white mountains, but this isn't a fast paced... We have used Northern Extremes for the last four years to kayak down the Saco. They run a good outfit for families and efficiently work to shuttle your group to and from the river. You can start as early as 9 am and end as late as 5:30 pm. There are great places to stop along the way on both... More

We chose the 5 mile trip and rented kayaks. The transfer to the water entry point took about 10 mins and we were collected promptly at 1:30. The Saco river was perfect for a lazy morning. One word of caution - make sure your driver has enough life vests!

Just got off the river from the 5 mile "4 hour" trip. Take advantage of the weekday rate which is 35 instead of 50. Reservation and arrival went OK. We were told that the trip would take 4 hours and we planned the day around that. We are not experienced kayakers but we finished in just under 2 hours.... The... More

We were staying just down the street - though the hotel had given us the name of a different outfitter, they were sold out of kayaks and had only certain times for canoes. When I called Northern Extremes, however, and asked for their shuttle times they said "whenever you get here". Boat checkout was easy, quick ride to their private... More

Been coming to Northern Extreme for about three years now to do our kayaking and we love it. Not only is the price reasonable, the kayaks of good quality but the employees are as friendly as can be. They drive you to the area that you start out and bring the kayaks to the rivers edge, let you know before... More

Our family enjoys kayaking every summer down the Saco river. My youngest son was probably 4 when we started this summer tradition and we always think of it as the best day of the summer. Northern Extreme drivers are always friendly and take the work out of the day. If you've never done it you really need to give it... More

Northern Extremes shuttled us and our kayaks to a put in spot on the Saco. The river was mobbed with kayaks, canoes, and tubes but the traffic soon spread out as people started on their trips. The river was great with just enough little challenges to keep it interesting. This was an excellent company to deal with. When we ended... More

This river is amazing for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and tubing. It was alot of fun for me and my family to relax floating down the river on our river tubes. We do it every year. There is a lot of camp grounds that have beach accesses to this river!
