An interesting way to view the sites. Let the conductor do the driving while everyone enjoys the views. Young children could get bored with the ride, it is a slow process up the hill.

Rode through the Notch during almost peak foliage. Definately a "Must Do" activity! Staff is friendly, helpful and they are Railroad People. Loved it!

Rode first class on trip to the Notchland sponsored by the Massachusetts Bay Railroad Enthusists open to the public on a sold out train pulled by the 7420 steam engine. Many great run byes for awesome photos. This was the last run of 7420 as it is going in for its federal FRA inspection and probably will not be back... More

Took a train ride New Years day. Basically take a slow ride down the tracks, turn around and come back. We went left from the train station and saw a good amount of run down houses, trailers, woods.... not a whole lot to look at. They conductor tried to give descriptions of the area but either he was mumbling or... More

Great day out on Conway Scenic Railway! This was a special charter trip of the Mass Bay Railroad Enthusiasts that was open to the public. Well organized, box lunches available and lots of opportunities for photos. We rode up to Notchland and back. We have been on several special runs with CSR and enjoyed ourselves. Never done the trip to... More

We took the 55 minute train ride to Conway since it sounded like a fun thing to do. Both of my teenagers were bored. When they ask you to 'change seats' so that the people on the left side can see the sights on the right, the people I was supposed to change seats with refused to move. Then there... More

In my experience, teenagers are bored with just about anything their parents find remotely interesting, but I have addressed the larger issue with this reviewer. As I explained to Debra, until very recently, we rarely had to deal with rude and/or inconsiderate passengers, but we've had a number of similar incidents this year. Going forward, reviewing strategies when faced with... More

Train just went to Conway and back not really a lot see mainly peoples trailer homes. Not really worth the money we paid $40 for 2 1st class tickets. We started to nod off during the 1 hour round trip

All of our trains depart from our historic station in the center of North Conway Village, and the first part of the Conway route does parallel Route 16 which has seen much development since Conway Scenic opened for business over 40 years ago. That stated, this excursion includes some lovely views of the Moat Mountain Range, wide open fields with... More

Short and boring ride that parallels route 16. Driving is more scenic. It was a waste of money and time.

Staying in North Conway from the UK for Xmas. Visited the railway today and to be honest we were a little disappointed with the lack of scenic. A 20 or so minute chug and then the engine swopped ends and you chug back again. We had perhaps incorrect expectations of a rise in altitude and some views we couldn't get... More

We're always sorry when someone is disappointed with their experience here. However, a quick look at our brochure, our website, or a question at the ticket office would have clarified for this reviewer that the Valley Train stays in the Valley. It does not climb into the mountains. As I've written before, we promote an old-fashioned railroading experience here, and... More
