We took the 55 min ride yesterday and it was great fun for the kids. Oddly enough it was my first train ride too. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Be aware the seats are technically built for two but unless you are 2 very slim adults you will be a bit squishy. Lots of scenery and its a... More

We love going on our annual train ride. The views were amazing and the ride was smooth and comfortable. Can't wait to go again

We took the 1 hr. ride b/c we had our 2 1/2 yr old grandson with us. He was so excited to ride a train, and it was the perfect length of time for a very active toddler. He really enjoyed the train whistle which sounded often, making him laugh every time. We also went over a bridge, just like... More

I wrote to this reviewer, thanking her for taking the time to write this - mostly - great review. Conductors are supposed to punch tickets! It's part of the old-fashioned experience here. We have a great crew, but occasionally one of them will get cantankerous for no apparent reason, and I apologized for this guest's treatment. She then provided more... More

This year we decided to try the Day Out with Thomas. The staff was very friendly and personable. We were told to arrive one hour before our scheduled departure but you couldn't get on the train until 15 minutes before the train departed. You ride back and forth - approximately 12 minutes one way and then back again. Percy covers... More

This Grammy is absolutely correct: this year's "prize" for the Thomas stamping map is awful. Cheap, cheap, cheap. And what fun for parents to have these things blowing in the back seat on the way home! We've already complained about it to HIT Entertainment, which owns the Thomas franchise. As for asking people to arrive at least an hour before... More

An old time train experience! This experience is for the "kid in you", and great for all ages. Several options are available. My most enjoyable one is the train ride up Crawford Notch and back to North Conway. This train ride offers a scenic ride through the White Mountains with some history lessons from the train staff. An evening dining... More

Was looking for something different to do for lunch, saw a brochure for the railway tour. We had a delicious meal on the train in an authentic dining car while we enjoyed a scenic tour just like the old days. My girls loved it, so did mom. Awesome staff, clean comfortable ride and educational too! Reasonably priced

Honestly, the operating costs have gone up significantly... that means it gets transferred to you, the rider... If you do any train, take the coach seat as it will be the cheapest.. If you take first class or the dining option be prepared to pay...

I've ridden the Conway Scenic Railroad and have had good experiences on it. We rode the valley train in the 1898 parlor car, which I found to be in good repair and offered a comfortable ride. I would like to ride the Notch Train the next time I have a chance. We recently drove through N. Conway and stopped in... More

We stopped in here briefly to stretch our legs and ended up poking about the place for about half an hour. Ridiculously photogenic - the station itself and its engines, but also the backdrop.

We weren't able to go on a train ride, but we did get to check out the trains in the yard and the working models. My 4yr-old train lover loved the models, but was left unsatisfied when he could climb aboard any of the older trains. It would be nice if a couple of them could be fixed up so... More
