While this isn't exactly a tour of the French Alps or the Rockies I would beg to differ with those that say there nothing at all scenic about this ride. We did the ride to Bartlett and there were some very nice views of the river and mountains. I went with my father and 4 year old son. It's definitely... More

The Conway Scenic Railroad was not quite what we were expecting, maybe we should have researched it more first. We took the valley train (the only one running in April). I think we were the only ones there without kids and we understood why afterwards. The train goes very slowly in a straight line for about 20 minutes and then... More

We appreciate this visitor taking the time to write a review, and s/he is correct: the Conway Valley Train is most popular with young families because it's relatively short (55 min.), but still gives passengers a glimpse of days gone by when the pace of life was slower, and train travel was a primary mode of travel. The children (and... More

What a thoroughly enjoyable trip. I would highly recommend the Lunch trip. The meal was wonderful and the trip was so enlightening and relaxing. The views were just fabulous! Well worth the money.

I visited the area in December and took the time to take my two little children on the Polar Express ride. From all accounts it is very hard to get tickets for and l understand why, this was something that my children had a ball doing. From the time we got on the train to the stop at Santa's village... We booked our train ride journey and then went off to explore the other engines and carriages parked up on the other tracks behind the station. We first saw all these tracks behind the station after crossing the main tracks to follow the signs for free parking. We returned and took many photos & video while waiting to board our... More

An interesting way to view the sites. Let the conductor do the driving while everyone enjoys the views. Young children could get bored with the ride, it is a slow process up the hill.

Rode through the Notch during almost peak foliage. Definately a "Must Do" activity! Staff is friendly, helpful and they are Railroad People. Loved it!
