My wife, kids and I were up visiting Conway Scenic Railroad and much to our dismay were informed by someone who was working in the repair shop that 2015 was the last it would operate. When pressed further for information we were advised that the owner of the railroad Russ Seybold was in his words (too cheap) to do the... More

This "reviewer" with his one review is known to us, and he's from Holbrook, MA, not Dallas, TX. He pops up on TripAdvisor about once a year, always under a new user name, to post his vitriolic fiction. He hasn't been allowed on our property in over 15 years. As covered in our brochure, our website, and our monthly newsletter,... More

Very nice for the family with any aged kids. I did not do the notch ride but would like to. The station is great.

Took this train trip and enjoyed the ride, narrtation of the conductor, the views and the stop at the Cider Mill on the return trip. Great family activity. Sit on one side of the train car and swap sides for the return trip. Different trips available with varying times.

I have been on the Conway Scenic Railroad several times and have always enjoyed myself. The train is fairly clean and the seat are comfortable (not extra comfortable, but shouldn't cause pain). The staff is friendly and nice. We have done the lunch train and although it is exciting to eat on a train for the kiddies, the food is... More

We've taken several of the trips on the railroad when friends and family where in the area to visit. Everyone starts out with oooh and ahhh, but by the end it's usually a question of when are we done.....if your going to do it though the fall is definitely the time to go, and the trip up to crawford notch... Was able to get a ticket on the Polar Express adventure during my roadtrip visit to North Conway. Traveled the rails to the North Pole where we were greeted by jolly elves. Most passengers were clad in pajamas, robes and slippers. Train chefs served hot chocolate and candy as we sang holiday songs. Festive and fun, the event included cozying-up... More

Originally was going to take the earlier trip but when I asked between the two times I was told the price and length of time. When I asked where do you go I was told a few miles up the road. This is totally the opposite of what I was told. The longer time brings you al the way around... More

We took the Notch Train up to Fabyan and back. Beautiful views of the mountains and some excellent commentary on the ride north. On the return trip we sat down to a delicious meal in the dining car. Probably the best ruben I've ever had. We highly recommend it.

We took the 1.5 hour train ride on the Valley Train. We had almost booked the 5 hour trip but I'm so glad we did the shorter trip. This was just the right length but almost too long. The car we were in (the Gertrude Emma) was very cold because someone had the window open and were freezing. We enjoyed... More

I've written to this reviewer, thanking her for taking the time to post. I'm glad, overall, that her family's experience with us was so positive, but there's no reason that she should have been uncomfortably cold on that car. If she's ever here again, I advised her to speak to the Conductor or, in the case of Gertrude Emma, the... More
