Took the 1 hr 45 "trip" today. We've been to the area many times but have never had a chance to take the train trip. Basically, it's a trip to Bartlet where you get some very hard to understand narration over the speakers. Most of the trip you are basically looking at trees on either side. 45 minutes to Bartlett,... More

Clearly this reviewer was expecting more than the "old-fashioned railroading experience" that we promote on our website, in our brochure, and at the ticket counter, along with the description of this excursion as traveling "over the river and through the woods." We have had some issues with the speaker system, which we're working on, and I apologize if the narration... More

My husband and I have been wanting to take this train ride and finally had the time so we bought two first class tickets for a 55 minute ride to Conway and back to North Conway. The tickets were $16 for economy which is a vinyl bench seat or $20 for first class. If you do go spend the extra... More

We went on the dinner train and had a very pleasant evening. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. Thankfully, name brand beer is available. Dinner consisted of 5 courses. Appetizer tray with dip, soup ( potato - leek ), salad, choice of entree served with delicious oat-molasses bread, and dessert ( lemon meringue pie ). Everything was delicious.... More

The train departs in the morning. Harken back to the days of yore as the old train takes you on a 2 hour ride to Crawfords station. Through the white forest the conductor tells tales of railroad men , bits of history , and gives colorful descriptions of the scenery. It's kind of hard to hear everything he says but... More

Took my grandson on the Conway Scenic Railroad, about 25 years after taking my own children. Well organized, from tickets to trip and return. Would have liked conductor to hand out stickers or something to the little ones. Narration was good but hard to hear because there were so many road crossings requiring the whistle to be blasting so often.

We arrived in North Conway earlier in the day & only staying one night, we had promised ourselves on past visits to take a trip on the Railroad & never found the time. We had no idea of where to go for supper & the station a notice stated reservations still available for the evening supper trip we booked. And... More

We read the description and thought it would be a nice ride to view the area. We took the 5hours trip. It is 2hours up, one hour at saco lake and 2hours down. The first hour and half the only thing you see is trees on both sides. sometimes they might tell you that if you look you can see... More

This was the one thing on our NH trip we wish we had not done. Although there were a few nice views of the river, generally you just stare at a wall of trees along the tracks or broken down mobile homes. Definitly not worth the money and we wish we had spent a little more and gone to the... More

We're always sorry if someone is unhappy with his or her experience here. This is Conway Scenic Railroad's 40th year in operation, and the North Conway area has seen a great deal of development over the last four decades. There are more houses and trees along the train routes than when the Railroad started. That stated, this trip is promoted... More

The train ride from North Conway to Bartlett was nice, but did not compare (of course) to the Mt Washington Cog railroad ride. If I go there again I will definitely try to ride the notch train route, but just be advised that is a long total ride (about 5 hours).
