We did the North Conway scenic railroad to Crawford Notch on a fall foliage tour in late September. Unfortunately, the day our tour went there, it was raining! It looked like the scenery MIGHT have been absolutely stunning, but we couldn't see it because it was covered with clouds. However, I would still highly recommend this. The train ride was... more

We have taken the Santa train out of Lincoln, NH, for years, and decided this year to try the Conway railroad Holiday train. We were able to make reservations online, and for an hour and 45 minute ride it was 22.00 each per adult and 15.00 for children 4-12. We still had to wait in the ticket line when we... more

My friend and I took the Notch train last month, the first time that we'd ever ridden that train. And we live here! As we traveled North, it was interesting to cross rivers and see the area from a new perspective, and climbing in elevation brought the mountains ever closer. The views and the foliage up there were beautiful, and... more

What a relaxed way to enjoy the stunning fall colors of New Hampshire. The dome car was well worth our $70 each. Never were we bored with the beauty of the mountains! more

There are a variety of train excursions and you need to understand each one is different. My mom and I had done the afternoon lunch train and had a good time. My elderly mom has a hard time climbing stairs, and they were able to use a wheelchair lift to help her into the car. They are very helpful. The... more

The first leg of this tour is great for those on the outside windows. For those on the inside, they can stare into sheer mountainside. The engine is pulled to the opposite end of the train for the return trip over the same track. The passengers are asked to switch sides. So those who did not get to stare into... more

Paid $100 for over 5 hours of boring! Found out after the fact, they offered a AAA discount and was told sorry you've paid and we can't give it to you now! The moderator spoke in monotone & very short sentences. Sounded like he didn't want to be there. Each car had a heater and the conductor kept turning it... more

We took our 3 year-old son for a ride on the N. Conway Scenic Railroad. He's a big fan of trains and he had a great time. The conductor made a big deal about taking his ticket which thrilled him. The view from the train was stunning. We were there just before the foliage came out. I'm sure it's beautiful... more

I enjoyed a fun and fact-filled hour on the scenic railroad. My three-year old daughter was thrilled at the opportunity to ride on a real train, and my husband and I enjoyed learning more about the area. The train was brimming with young families and retirees alike, all smiling from ear to ear. I absolutely think you should go! more
