I have been to the store many times for gear. This is the place to go for new and used technical gear and a helpful, knowledgeable staff. You should definitely check it out (especially if you're a gearhead). As for the school, I ran into the guide Zeb while climbing White Horse. He had a group of kids, and was... More

I decided to tackle mountaineering, after years of reading books about it. I am a newbie to the activity, and IMCS has made the experience outstanding. I started with the 3 day mountaineering course in March. I learned a tremendous amount. Our guide, Sam, was extremely knowledgable and very patient with someone whose only experience has come from reading books.... More

IME is the real thing, run by real climbers. I shop here, I use the climbing school, I sell my second hand gear so I can get new toys. Extremely nice, helpful people. Whatever you interest is in the outdoors, stop by the place. Make it a pilgrimage. Ask questions, take a class, go on one of their treks in... More

Wow, IMCS made our trip into a memorable adventure. Brad White set us all up pre-trip and met us at the shop early Friday morning. We paired up with our guide Zeb (Zebulon) who was flexible, highly knowledgeable, very patient and most of all, encouraged us to have fun. With Zeb in the lead, we pushed ourselves hard, but we... What a great winter climbing experience! Our guide Craig was so knowledgeable all the way up our snowy trail to the top of Mount Washington. At one point one of the members of our party was struggling and he casually took her pack and just strapped it on to his own! It was at least 30 pounds! Such a memorable... More

I was looking to do some technical mountaineering training and was looking at places out west until I discovered the International Mountain Climbing School. Winter in the White Mountains simulates high altitude in other areas, and for folks on the East Coast this is a wonderful place to train. The school (located on the 2nd floor of the shop) is... Has all the latest gear, plus imported rugs, clothes, etc from Nepal. Basement is a consignment shop with excellent, clean clothes, boots, etc. at a fair price. Good place to get serviceable second hand technical clothing at way below price for new.

My son and I went climbing with Chris and loved it. We climbed Catheral Ledge and I still can't believe we did!
