I have visited many of Wrights houses over the years. I am always amazed at the insight to the utilized space, natural light, and built-in furniture. He reads the owners, and builds a space to suit them. In this space he uses part of the L/R for use as a music entertainment area. The grounds blend in so nicely.

Took this tour on a dreary Memorial Day Afternoon. Know very little about FLW so wanted to see one of his designs. I was extremely disappointed in the house as I found it dark and very enclosed. . The passageways were very narrow, bedrooms, baths and kitchen tiny and the furniture built for midgets. How the Zimmerman Family lived there... More

This tour starts at the Currier Museum and you are bused to the house. The group is intentionally small, as the house is compact. I was impressed with all the small details that make a small house seem larger. The docents were well informed and could get the message across. The way the house was situated allows you to ignore... This is such a great tour. You get to see this rather small Frank Lloyd Wright house, and imagine and understand how it was actually lived in. You learn a lot about his insistence on complete unity of design, from everything to the silverware to the art work. You get to experience the sensitivity to the landscaping, and the aesthetics.... The house is kept as it was when Zimmermans lived there. The tour gave you a good feeling what it was like to live in a FLW home. It was well worth the trip to see it. I think if you read Small WonderAZ's report on the FLW Zimmerman house, you can get all the info you may need. I... More

We visited this Frank Lloyd Wright house in its beautiful setting. I am a fan of the prairie style architecture and live in a Deck House which was based on Frank Lloyd Wright design elements. This house is wonderfully preserved and the curator has kept all the details just as Mr. Wright wanted them. Worth the visit.

We made a special trip to Manchester just to tour this lovely home. Even if you are unfamiliar with Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture and philosophy, a tour of this home is well worth your time. Built by FLW in 1950 for the Dr. Isadore & Lucille Zimmerman, the couple lived in this FLW designed house for 36 years before leaving... More

If you have any interest in architecture, particularly the late-career architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, then this Usonian home is a must see. The docents from the Currier Museum of Art were very knowledgeable and gave an interesting and leisurely tour. This is probably not Wright's best Usonian home, but it is very nice and has many features uniquely designed... More

Discovered this little gem after joining the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Foundation. Well worth the diversion to Manchester. Guides are very well informed and the house is nicely preserved. Interesting to see such an intact work of art.
