gotta' see it to believe it!

It's a rock formation looking like an Indian head with a headdress of pine trees. It's worth a little drive out of your way if you need to!

not sure if it is still there, may have disappeared in a rock fall. It was amazing to see this giant Indian head carved out on the top of a mountain, it was discovered about a hundred years ago after a forest fire burned all the vegetation on the mountain

Nice place to stay, very close to hobo rail (polar express event) and loon mountain (skiing) , views from the rooms are either overlooking the shadow lake where you can engage in boating or they are overlooking the notch (ie the Indian head mountain view) ... Friendly staff and nice facilities.

Summit is about a mile and a half from the parking are. Trail meanders and switches uphill. Did it in the snow with a crunch cover, path slightly trodden and slick but very maneuverable. Nice variety of altitude change and forest and stream.

My girlfriend and I just happened upon this Resort. We enjoyed the mini tour we had which included the dinner/lounge/bar area. The incredible views from all over the site. The gift shop was excellent with items not normally seen else where and priced reasonably. We are looking forward in booking a stay their in the very near future. Thank You... More

Since the Old Man fell many years ago, taking family and friends to see a view now rests on the Indian Head. We just stopped and looked up to see it...it is still there for now.

A lot of the reviews on here are for the Indian Head resort, rather than the actual mountain as it should be, although you can really only see the Indian Head face from the parking lot of the resort. You can park to hike Indian Head at the "trailhead parking" by the Flume. There are 2 trails, Indian Head and... More

You can view the Indian Head rock formation from the parking lot of the Indian Head Resort. The trail to the top is an easy hike for experienced hikers and the views are fantastic. Free

We stopped at the restaurant for dinner and were seated shortly upon arrival. The man who seated us was very friendly, but seriously needed to have his dress shirt ironed! We ordered prime rib well done...it was more like a roast warmed up. The food didn't arrive at our table hot and when I wanted to ask for some small... More

It took them 10 minutes to seat us (we were the only ones in line)... We couldn't understand the server and she forgot half of our food. There was a overpriced gift shop as was the restaurant! Never again,
