The White Mountains are amazing. The scenery is incredible. In the spring everything is lush and green and in the winter, white and tranquil. We love all seasons in the White Mountains. Lots to see and do.

The Flume hike is awesome, cantilevered stairs hug the sides of the gorge. Do not miss this easy hike.

Lovely campgrounds and beautiful woods. I'm certain the real crowning jewel is the fall colors but we were here in the summer. Lots of flying bugs so bring your repellent. It's beautiful and very pleasant. I'm looking forward to camping here in the future - it's now on my to-do list.

We only had a couple of days here but managed to squeeze in several walks and scenic drives. This is a spectacular area and deserves more time to experience it. Buy yourself a decent hiking guide and explore. We based ourselves in North Conway and found that to be central to many of the hikes

I have hiked in the White Mountain National Forest all my life, beginning as a child with my parents. We later started camping there, and our favorite campgrounds are there. I enjoy this area year-round for hiking, camping, X-C skiing, snowshoeing, leaf-peeping, etc. We cannot wait to introduce the next generation!

When you hike to the top of the world and you're looking down on creation (The Carpenters), it's amazing. It's awe inspiring. It's remarkable. This south Florida guy can't get enough of the White Mountains. Franconia Notch State Park, the National Forest, Kancamagus Highway, Crawford Notch State Park, Echo Lakes State Park and of course, Mount Washington! Even the hiking... More

We were here in May, spring had only just arrived. Good weather for hiking and a wonderful scenic drive. Must return in October some time :)

Flume Gorge is approx 40 minutes from Tilton Inn, but worth the drive. The scenery is beautiful. The Flume walk is only 2 miles, but it felt longer, lotta steps and hills for us 'couch potatoes', but it is definitely worth it !! Really glad we did it.

I refuse to believe that there are many more places on this earth that are as beautiful as the White Mountains... and there is no better way to take in that beauty than by visiting the national forest. For outdoorsy people, this place has so much! There are paved biking/walking trails, scenic vistas, swimming areas, boat rentals, camping, and (my... More
