The place was refurbed many years ago, and it looks very good, kind of art nouveau, I guess. Saw a movie there and have seen others in the theater when in the Keene area over the past 50+ years. Live shows, too, though I've never seen one.

The Colonial Theatre is a beautifully restored gem offering many great performances and films. We visited the theatre during a short trip to Keene. The theatre was showing the independent film "Cold in July" which was filmed in our town in New York. We searched many locations in our area to view the film with no luck. Surprisingly, upon arriving... More

I traveled to Keene specifically to see Rick Springfield at the Colonial Theater. This venue is well restored, had excellent acoustics. Looking forward to other shows they may offer.

Saw the Chieftains (who were fabulous) at the Colonial Theater. There is no dedicated parking, nor is there is any information on the theater website at all regarding parking - they really need to create a link for parking. However, there is a municipal lot behind the theater (about a 3 minute walk). But that lot, which is large, is... More

This will take you back to the turn of the century.... This wonderful old building has been fully restored. As you enter, you will imaging the day when movies, internet and concerts were unheard of. A time when people actually dressed for an evening out and shows were a treat! If you have a chance to be in Keene,NH, you... More

The Colonial is a beautiful old theatre that was saved about 15 years ago. It brings you back in time to when you saw movies in places that had character! In addition to movies, the Colonial hosts some big name entertainment and there is no bad seat in the house. It is a real pleasure to go there!

This 1920's movie palace is a gem. It has been beautifully restored and offers a great old/new experience. Hosting current films, traveling shows of all genre - i.e., acrobats, comedians, musicals, ballet and modern dance, singers as well as local musical groups, it is always a joy to visit. Surrounded by many restaurants, the Colonial can serve as a great... More

It's very cool to have a local venue that attracts big name and varied performers. Beautiful decor and intimate. This theater is synonymous with the "Keene experience".

It is a nice spacious theater with Abe Lincoln Ford Theater like setting. Plays mostly film festival type movies but also gets some great comedians.
