They do a great job with not great snow conditions

Despite lots of bare ground in the town of Jackson, the Ellis trail and Prospect Farm had surprisingly good conditions yesterday.

The Jackson Ski Touring Center is a XC skier's dream - when there is snow. Although they groom, they do not make snow. You can ski to your heart's content when there is adequate cover. I have spent many an hour skiing these trails. There is something for everyone! Many people take advantage of various inns that have restaurants. I've... More

We went to Jackson the week of Saint Patrick's day. I've read the poor reviews and I totally disagree. This trip was our 7th visit to Jackson. As always the Foundation's staff are friendly and helpful with trail advice and in the waxing room. The trails were well groomed and we skied the length of the Ellis river trail. I... More

This is a wonderful resource for XC skiers. However, if you are new to the area or to the sport, make sure you get well oriented, they do not do this very well if you don't know to ask. For example, make sure you check the board in the lodge to find out if the trails you are heading for... More

Our family (kids ages 10 & 8) decided to try skiing for the first time and showed up at the ticket house with no reservations. The staff was amazing and before we knew it we had been outfitted in rentals and were meeting our instructor for lessons. The instruction was great, and we spent a couple of hours exploring some... We stayed in town for two nights on a whim and decided to take a skiing lesson for the heck of it. The staff in the ticketing/rental center were very helpful and excited for us to try the sport. Our instructor, Sally, was great and made it an enjoyable afternoon. We'll definitely be back to the area again, and we... More

We spent the day exploring the trails along the river and through the forest. The trails were perfectly groomed and the weather could not have been better. We will definitely remember this place and come back to do the rest of the trails next year.

We have been xc skiing here for years but decided this time to try snowshoeing and loved it! We stay at Eagle Mountain House and can start from right behind the hotel. Snowshoed down to Mirror Lake, over to Sprucewood, around the Flume Path and back up to the hotel. There was a light snow the night before and we... More

Jackson's trails are well groomed and well maintained; to us it was the mecca of cross country skiing. It was zero degrees out but we had a great time.

The Touring Foundation maintains a fantastic location and services. Guides assist with choosing trails and gauging people's skill and abilities.
