Woke up to 5 inches of fresh fallen snow. Took a ride to Echo Lake. There is nothing like walking on pure, fresh , fallen snow. Needless to say the walk was as magnificent as was the lake. There was no one there but us. It was truly beautiful and serene. To our surprise, it really does echo! My husband... More

I have been hiking in winter at echo lake for 12 years, taking the Bryce trail to nearby Cathedral Mountain. It has become more dangerous every year as snow mobiles have began encroaching on the trails that are too narrow in my opinion to safely hike or snow show on with snowmobiles going up to 45 mph. If going hiking... More

Clear water, bathing facilities. Views of the ledges. Clean restrooms. Shady or sunny places to set up for the day.

When we parked our car, I was kinda disappointed at its small size. But I was impressed as I walked toward the lake. The view is so beautiful. I went there at the peak of foliage. The quiet reflections of mountains covered with colorful leaves and themselves really attracted my eye. This place has great energy and what I only... More

I recommend leaving your family/girlfriend/boyfriend/friends at the hotel and come here alone for awhile and reflect on your life. This place has great energy and you'll feel better about yourself. Offseason or when its closed during the summer when there's no one around. You'll see what I mean. Thank me later!

I visited Echo Lake on what was apparently the hottest day of the summer, Sept. 4, and it was perfect--a great escape without noise or distractions, just pretty water, a lovely beach, plenty of picnic tables, walking trails and a towering mountain in the background. Because I was staying in the area (Locust Lane), I decided to ride my bike... More

My hubby just had his ankle reconstructed so we can't do many of the outdoor activities that are available in the White Mountains due to his mobility issues. The perfect solution to this was a picnic on Echo Lake. Well worth the $8 we paid. It's really not a lake, it's more like a pond, but it's a very nice... More

This is a small lake and park right in North Conway. Never crowded when we're there. I recommend driving up to the ledges for a fantastic view!!! You can do a quick tour in an hour or less, I highly recommend seeing Echo lake if you're in the area
