I have been to Wellington only in the 'Off Season", Lovely views, very nice little hike, picnic area and beach area are clean and well kept. There are amenities for beach season such as a snack bar, play ground, and bathroom. The outside of the buildings are well maintained-again I was there off season and it is lovely.

This has to be one of if the busiest State Parks in NH and rightfully so, because of the beauty of this Lake. We launched with ease on Friday afternoon the place was deserted kids back in school and every working. We tried to beat the crowds by leaving Sunday around 1pm thinking it would be an off time on... We came to hike but are not experts. Paid nominal fee to park at the lake and then walked across the street to do Big Sugar Loaf Trail. It is only 1.8 miles one way, but it was a steady incline and challenging in parts, but great. Trails are well marked and the view at the top is beautiful. Happily... More

I visited Wellington state park to use the boat launch to Newfound lake this weekend. The launch is free to use! I've been to other free launches and this one certainly takes the cake, two sides with a dock down the middle, a bathroom near by and ample parking. We went around 11 on a Saturday and my boyfriend and... More

We were just passing through Newfound Lake, but if we had longer we definitely would picnic and swim here - the water was clear and inviting, and the swim area was well marked with buoys and spacious. There were many families grilling in the shady edge of the clean beach on a sunny warm summer Friday. Perhaps on the weekend... More

Beautiful clean lake with extensive beach area. Walking trail along the water is well marked and not overly difficult. No crowds. Bathrooms and store available. Love that there are picnic benches and grills along the beach and wooded areas. There is a playground area on the beach for kids. This is an awesome lake for boaters. Swimmers can wade out... More

New Hampshire's clearest lake with shaded beach areas.. Close in parking near picnic spots, quiet and serene on a very hot day
