The crew were prompt, organized, and well trained. We felt very comfortable in their care. Our guide shared many facts about the surrounding area and its wild life. The trail goes up into the forest which then overlooks the lake. Not knowing what to expect when we arrived, our tour was a private one. That was a nice, unexpected treat.

Recently spent a week at Tahoe with family. Surprised my niece, who owns her own horse and experienced rider, with a trail ride at Zephyr Cove Stables. Being 56yr. and not having been on a horse in 40 yrs., I was very nervous to say the least! To my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed it! The horses were very gentle. The... More

Our 4 horses were led single file by the guide through a forested area. We eventually reached a nice overlook of the lake. The guide dismounted and took a group photo for us. Then we headed back down to the corral. The hour passed quickly and felt just the right amount of time to be on the horses.

We took a two-hour trail ride. The scenery is beautiful, and our guide was friendly and shared a lot of information about the area. We are experienced riders and enjoyed the horses, which are well-trained.

My daughter was wanting to ride all day, but my wife used to ride and knew that an hour on our rear ends/knees would be enough since we never ride. Got there for a 10am appointment and they took us right in. Within 15mins we were on horses. The horses were calm and easy going. The trail was nice. Our... More

We chose a mid morning 2 hour ride. My husband doesn't really like riding, but went along. It was just the 2 of us with the guide, John. He was informative and friendly. The horses were well taken care of and knew their job. We saw a doe come crashing thru the forest about 10 minutes into the ride. She... More

This was a great way to just sit and relax while taking in the beauty of the surrounding forests of Lake Tahoe. The horses were really calm and caused us no troubles (thank God). Our guide Nancy was a gem- she entertained us with stories and facts of Lake Tahoe. Would go here again!!

This beach is really nice although sometimes a little crowded. You pay $8 for parking or you can park on the highway and walk in at no cost. The day we were there, there was great live music at the restaurant/bar which you can hear from the beach and they make very good tropical drinks. The lake is crystal clear... More

My family just visited South Lake Tahoe and had a fantastic 1-hour horseback and dinner ride with amazing views of the lake at Zephyr Cove Stables. This is run by wonderful people--Dwight and Louise, with Kate as our team guide and numerous helpers and cooks. It is located off Hwy 50, just 4 miles from the South Lake Tahoe casinos.... More
