Lack of participants & vendors. We have been previous box holders. Decided to go this year and get the buzz of aviation. Crowds were very thin this year. I hope next year turns out better for them.

Just went to the Reno Air Races (Sept 2014). I have known about the races for many decades and finally said I can't wait any longer and went. Wow! Breathtaking, Incredible, Stunning, and More. To see planes racing head to head at over 490 miles per hour, separated by a nose or less is a big WOW! To see the... More

We have been going to the races for several years now and never seem to get enough of the roar of the engines. RARA does a outstanding job putting on this event. If you are an aviation or racing enthusiast this is a event you don't want to miss.

Started at 1964, held every September just north of Reno, the National Championship Air Races named one of the 10 best air show in the world. For one week, the high desert north of Reno becomes home to hundreds of aircraft, their pilots and crews coming from different countries. Six different race plane classes battle just 60 feet from the... More

We go pretty much every year - my dad is a hobby pilot and loves going so we always join. It's a lot of fun, though extremely hot with no shade and you're on asphalt or super uncomfortable bleachers. There's not a ton of fun things to look at or do other than watch the show, but they generally have... More

I'm a long time repeat spectator to this annual event. The races are always in September every year. If you love watching airplanes, this is a must see event. There are several categories of aircraft that race from small homebuilt racers through fully modified WWII fighters that top out at 500mph...at least for now! Probably the most impressive class of... If it is your first time here you'll be amazed. If you were here in the past with Art Scholl, Bob Hoover, Confederate Air Force, wing walkers, Snow Birds, Thunderbirds and so much, much more in aerobatics to mention between the races it will feel like cheap thrills...not what it used to be.

I had no idea what to expect when I decided to attend the races for the first time this year. From the moment I walked through the gate I was treated to the most amazing sights and sounds. We got reserved seating in the bleachers, which was a few dollars more and totally worth it because we didn't have to... More

I live at Stead. Watched them every year. They always flew over the house but stopped now because of the accident a few years ago. At that time they would come so close you could wave to them. One day One flew over the house and we waved the American flag. He turned around and left and came back with... More

My uncle used to race back in the 60s and I never got to see him race so now going is fun to see. Watching the kids faces as the planes went by is something special.
