The neighborhood is not the best, lots of unsavory characters creeping around the lake and park. I won't take my child there. It's a shame, there's lots of ducks he would love to see and feed.

Nice little lake, great for morning walks! They are doing some construction on East side of lake, but wasn't a terrible distraction.

We came across the park while driving around Reno one afternoon. As soon as we saw it we stopped got out and enjoyed a lap around the lake. The locals were friendly and the park well maintained.

Nice little park to walk around the lake on a hot summer day. Lots of birds in the water and shade to enjoy. Looks like new condos/apartments are being constructed directly across from park.

Need to walk off dinner? Need to get away from downtown? Just want to sit and watch the world go by? This is the place. Places to sit, read, have a picnic, yak with a friend - one of Reno's small joys.

When I was a kid growing up in Reno, this was one place my parents regularly took me and my brothers. We would bring the dogs and walk along the shoreline, or bring seed or bread to feed the ducks and geese. Even though the neighborhood has changed a bit and I moved away from Reno over a decade ago,... More

You are better off walking your dog on a leash around the lake than use the dog park. It's just a large patch of dirt. Time for the city to spend a couple of bucks and spruce it up.

Virginia Lakes Park is a nice park to take a walk. It relatively level, nice water area, and a great place to see seagulls, geese, and ducks. We enjoy taking a walk here every so often when we are in Reno. Today was a perfect spring day for that - nice warm sunny, light breeze. Its close to Peppermill Hotel... More

This is a small man-made lake, easy to walk around and very pet friendly. It has containers to drop off your dog's gifts to nature all around the lake. Also has an unbelievable number of ducks, geese and seagulls which have become quite used to humans and many like to be hand-fed.
