After the long us 50 drive, we settled in our motel and came here to get a good walk. The river was very active with birds, and people were walking their dogs. The adjoining neighborhood is going through a revival, with restaurants being built nearby. There were some homeless people, with evidence of camping in one spot, but as others... More

We were there for an mid-afternoon walk and a late lunch. Nice place to people watch. We enjoyed the river and had a nice outdoor lunch. There were some homeless around but they were not intrusive.

I was going to give this just an average rating, but in all fairness, we weren't there at the right time. Went on a Monday in the afternoon in fall. It is a beautiful stroll right in the middle of downtown Reno that was unexpected, but I imagine in the summer or on the weekends it would have been even... More

Walking along the Truckee River is a pleasant experience. During the summer we saw people swimming, floating in a tube, or kyakcing in the rapidly moving water. There are several good restaurants both right on the Riverwalk as well as along the side streets. During local events, there are activities in the park. We were there for the Art Week... More

A very nice area to relax and gaze at the surrounding area and the mighty Truckee River. There are always activities going on all year here. We witnessed a wedding during our visit this time. Very nice to see.

The Riverwalk is beautiful as it winds into downtown Reno. Some parts of the river are natural and other ares have been created, but they meld wonderfully together. The walk leads into the Riverwalk District that houses restaurants and stores. The whole area is clean and safe to walk around in. Only downside is that once it starts to lose... More

Attempted to visit some historic areas in Reno and the riverwalk. Difficult to find parking, the people walking around appeared homeless. Drab, dirty, depressing and scary. Very poor signage in this town. Hard to find your way around.

The 'Riverwalk' district consists of only a few small blocks, but within that area are several excellent resturants, an area for kayak practice on the Truckee river, a park (that was used for a music festival while I was there), a broad sidewalk for outdoor enthusiasts, and some of Reno's historical buildings.
