Lake Tahoe and surrounding area is on display in art, photography, antique maps, activity center, literature, and tactile arts. It is a marvelous show that is beautifully displayed. If you are in the area or live around the area, it is worthwhile your time and the entry fee to visit the Nevada Museum of Art. The show continues into January... More

During my most recent visit to Reno, I had the pleasure of visiting the Nevada Museum of Art, after years of trying. My timing was perfect as I was able to see the current exhibit, "Tahoe: A Visual History", which is the World's first comprehensive collection of art from and about the Reno/Tahoe region. The exhibit is expertly curated and... More

The Lake Tahoe exhibit was showing. This was a first see on ,y list. It was spectacular. There were two floors of pictures, paintings, Indian baskets, and ect. to see. It is a must while it is still on display.

Enjoyed beautiful artwork from various personal collections & art mediums and photographs of gorgeous Lake Tahoe. It is quite an impressive exhibit of works from photographs to oils by some of the "greats" like Thomas Hill & Ansel Adams. Would definitely recommend! And if you're hungry for a snack or lunch, the food and coffee at the museum cafe are... More

I like it. Exhibits change regularly. Right now they have the Lake Tahoe exhibit, the first of its kind. $10 admission for non members.

A visit to the museum will fill an afternoon, and there's fun stuff in the gift shop. Best about this museum, though, is that they hold special events, exhibitions and talks that are unique and relevant to the northern Nevada community. Check out their First Thursday events for real local flavor.

i have been to Reno many times but have not stopped here. I will make it a "must do" on future trips. The current special exhibition on Lake Tahoe warrants a repeat visit. It was excellent...I was most impressed with the variety of painters who had painted the lake over the years. It was an excellent exhibit and I really... More

As museums go, this one is on the small and manageable side. It emphasizes local art, often putting on exhibits such as on the history of Lake Tahoe, etc. The cafe inside offers decent food. Parking is free but can be limited. Visit their website for current exhibits.

Wow! The Tahoe exhibit is spectacular. Don't miss it if you are in Reno. Baskets, paintings, history beautifully curated. It took hours to see it all because the writing on the wall with each object was so good. This museum apparently doesn't have its own collection, but rather hosts a series of temporary exhibits, so each visitor's experience can be... More
