It was a disappointing visit for us because the third and fourth floors were closed due to preparation for a Tahoe exhibit. Only part of the second floor was open and the gift shop on the first floor. The third and fourth floor will re-open in February 2016

I worked at the NMA for the first 6 years that it was open and so have a good grasp of it's artistic offerings. It is a publicly funded ( non government funded, public and foundation funded). The museum is a four story building of 77,000 square feet with galleries on two floors and sculptures on the roof. They have eclectic... More

The museum and all of the people associated with it are first rate. The exhibits are always interesting and well displayed. The museum as a cafe in the lobby and Sunday music. They are getting ready to open a large exhibit in late August 2015 about Tahoe - one more reason to visit.

The Nevada museum of art is lovely. They have a wide variety of interesting exhibits and I love the rooftop area. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful and there is a great area for kids to explore. They also have a nice little cafe for lunch or brunch.

I went with friends to Sunday brunch last week and found this place to be very interesting. The food selections were unique. We all got something different and each of us loved our entree. Creme brûlée French toast. Delish! There was live music and it was very good. And entry into the museum came with your entree. What a nice... More

If you are expecting a MOMA or Guggenheim or Getty, then you will be sorely disappointed. If, however, you enjoy eclectic collections presented in an interesting building, this is the place. Yes, it is small, but we should consider quality not quantity. The Nevada Museum of Art is the perfect size for an afternoon visit. You can see it all... More

There was just one floor open, that was not mentioned on there website, so for $8 the exhibition was very small and poor, barely objects and paintings to see. If only they have another 2 floors open, things would be different, just for one floor they should let everyone free or for $5. Not happy with my visit.

Nice Sunday brunch, with live jazz. The food is good, but not as great as the brunch food at Campo's (same owner). The Montage had a savory bread pudding, chorizo, and poached eggs, but was very, very salty. The museum is a great size with a good variety of art for a regional museum. There are traveling exhibits as well,... More

We were in Reno for the weekend and stopped by this museum. We found out that every second Saturday was free admission. It's definitely worth checking out.
