Even though we paid the Senior rate, this museum basically has nothing in it. It did have a Civil War exhibit with a few pictures and Soldiers service records but the other rooms were basically empty. For example one large room had two items in it. Pins on a wall (and only on a small portion of the wall)stating it... More

This museum is small, but has a fairly impressive permanent collection and rotating exhibitions so we are exposed to a wide variety of art. There are also monthly brown bag lectures and workshops for adults and children. I have participated in several of the educators workshops following lectures and found them great fun and also interesting, plus they serve cookies... More

I have to say though a real highlight... More

The Doris Duke exhibit on Shangri-La is eye-opening and delightful. The Museum cafe has good if tame expresso, a mild roast very non-Italian/French. The food is delicious. The shopp is well staffed and stocked with many temptations and great postcards and cards for travelers or writers.

I have never been so disappointed with a museum as I was with the Nevada Museum of Art. It took me, literally, about 8 minutes to walk through all the floors, including the roof. The view from the roof was the only decent thing at the museum. There was an exhibition on Islamic Art. Islamic Art??? At this point in... More

We were amazed with the quality and content that was displayed in the current Doris Duke Islamic collection located in Honolulu Hawaii. This museum is always our first stop when visiting "the biggest little city".

A young "gaurd " followed us EVERYWHERE I doubled back to be sure and finally asked... More

Had a great afternoon exploring the museum. A great variety of art and was laid out nicely. We would definitely come back and would recommend to anyone visiting Reno.

Who knew Reno had such a world-class art museum? Well worth a visit. Nice restaurant for lunch, and gift shop.
