I stayed in Reno. Caught the local ski bus it was $15 roundtrip. It is only about 20-25 minutes one way. I got the first-timers package at Mt. Stayed in Reno for 5 days. Mt. Rose is about 20-25 minutes away, very easy to get to. The beginners package which includes instruction, rental, and green lifts for $49 cant be beat.
