New child skiier fell in love with skiing!

My daughter loved her "Rosebud" ski lessons! She made good progress and the instructor was wonderful.

Great small resort very near Reno/ Carson area. A lot of fun for a day trip, great price. Easy trails as well as a lot of black diamond runs.

I've grown up nearby this resort and have been skiing since I was a kid here. When the chutes are open, it's almost a world-class resort. The only problem is that they charge way too much when held in comparison with the other, bigger resorts in the area.

This is one of my favorite resorts to ski. Great for locals and visitors alike. Front side favorites are Waterfall and Six Gun. An added bonus is the great view of Nevada from the top.

I ski 125 days a season - in the Tahoe area - with 80+ days at Rose this season. They really got lucky this year and had THE BEST SNOW IN TAHOE all season long. The elevation was a blessing - as Rose got snow when everyone else got drizzle. Their snow-making grooming was also a huge step up from... More

This is our go to local resort - great family skiing - lessons for kids - new lodge on slide side is nice. highest base elevation means snow was good even during poor winters

As a longtime Squaw Valley skier now living in Reno, NV, I didn't expect to be very excited about Mt. Rose, which is an easy 20 minutes from Reno. I am delighted to report my expectations were greatly exceeded. There are a series of chutes that are quite comparable in difficulty to those at Squaw as well as a good... More

wish we would get some snow, these last few drought years are the pits. price is right usually never to crowded and now you can ski both sides of the mountain on one ticket.

Briefly stayed for the view. View of the mountains and valley from here. It was a nice quick side trip.

This "older" ski resort continues to reap the benefit of having about the highest elevation around with correspondingly good snow. Being in Nevada, the prices are less than at Northstar or Squaw Valley so for skiing there is somewhat more value for the money. For those who prefer "modern", "plastic" and "flashy", the California resorts would be better.
