Interesting dam a couple of miles outside Laughlin. We walked from the resort following a well laid out road/path. It was hot so take plenty of water. We saw lizards and roadrunners(birds) on route. The dam itself can be explored walking on it with great views of the lake. Being remote don't expect to see many people.

I traveled to the Davis Dam first by car. I parked off to the side right before the bridge. I walked the bridge to try and get a better look at the dam but it had started to drizzle which turned into larger drops, I know very rare for the desert, but it was the start of a 2-3 day... More

The dam is a great location for spearfishing for carp. The water is very clear with about 30 feet of visibility and I saw several schools of carp. You don't even need a boat to access it. Just park at the top and walk down the short, but little bit steep, trail.

we took the 10.00 boat tour that leaves the Riverside every two hours. Totally worth it for the two hours as the tour includes interesting history and narration. They serve drinks and everyone on staff was friendly and making sure you are safe. it was warm that day but this would not be fun unless it was. Make sure you... More

No where near the size of the Hoover Dam; however, this giant still performs an important function. The park area is quiet and clean. A great rest stop.

We walked the River walk all the way to the dam. Great walk; near the dam is a wonderful park that has plenty of playground equipment for the kids to play on. Well maintained and picnic tables as well as fishing area. Very nice area. Clean and maintained

Pre 911 Davis Dam had a tour you could take inside the dam. Now there is just a place to park and some signage to read to give you history of the dam and the river above and below it. Still a very neat place to visit. Takes about 1 hour to see everything from this point. You can drive... More

Drive over if you please, but the 'tour' is a half-dozen placuues around the main building. No, tours. One ranger-guard sits on the dam in his pickup so that nobody gets out of line (?!) It is fenced off anyway, so all you can do is ride a bike or walk across. Were it is shut down to traffic due... More
