We were looking for a little break from the casinos and you could see the top of Davis Dam from the Laughlin strip. A short 10 minute ride and we were there. The road was closed but you could still drive into the power plants parking lot and park to take pictures. There's armed security walking around of course, it's... More

Being able to have fun and take the boat trip from the Riverside hotel, and being able to see a Dam in person was a great way to spend family time.

We came across the Davis Dam, while boating down the river. We stopped to take pictures, it was interesting to see it. My boyfriends father worked on building this dam in 1947.

On the way to Bullhead City, AZ to get gas (lowest in the area) we found Davis Dam (8 miles from Laughlin / 10 miles from Bullhead) on 163. The road to cross the dam for cars is closed, but pedestrians and bikes are allowed. Very nice picnic area is attractive. Unfortunately we couldn't find the 'unmarked' road to Grapevine... More

There was a nice park and picnic area near the dam. It was interesting just being so close to the dam. Not really much to do there.

Average for a Dam, appeared to be doing a good job of holding back water while we floated by, none of the gates were open, what more can you say about a dam?

Ran on the trail up here twice during our stay in Laughlin. Very nice that they allow pedestrians, runners and bicyclists to cross the dike and dam over to the Arizona side of the Colorado River.

Interesting dam a couple of miles outside Laughlin. We walked from the resort following a well laid out road/path. It was hot so take plenty of water. We saw lizards and roadrunners(birds) on route. The dam itself can be explored walking on it with great views of the lake. Being remote don't expect to see many people.

I traveled to the Davis Dam first by car. I parked off to the side right before the bridge. I walked the bridge to try and get a better look at the dam but it had started to drizzle which turned into larger drops, I know very rare for the desert, but it was the start of a 2-3 day... More
