My husband and I took our first trip ever to the city of Las Vegas (Jan.10th -Jan 13th). We were told of the Gold Spike and decided to check it out. Although we did not book a room there, we did visit the casino and had a wonderful prime rib dinner. Cooked perfectly and fork tender meat. Gigantic bake potato... More

Hands down, the Gold Spike is one of my favorite places to play black jack. Two thumbs up to Rita and her staff. The dealers actually have personalities that make playing there a treat. Another plus for the GS is the inexpensive food. Where else can you get a prime rib dinner for $4.99? If you find yourself getting lost... More

I enjoyed the Spike before; however, with the new renovations I hardly recognized this hidden gem. My sister, good friend and son spent seven nights in Vegas and were at the Spike every evening. It reminded us of "Cheers" where everybody knows your name. I have been going to Vegas at least once a year since 1975 and this was... More

The new gold spike casino is great. It is clean and smoke free. The slots are loose and they have new hott dealers at the table games. They still have the same low prices on gaming, rooms, drinks and food. Check it out if you want a clean place to gamble downtown. More

If rubbing elbows with the down-and-out is your thing, then the Gold Spike is the casino of your dreams! The only reason I found this place was from a disadvantaged individual on Fremont St. who needed another quarter in order to get a dollar beer at a place called the Gold Spike. Not wanting to deprive anyone of their happiness... More

It's smoky, dirty and small, but a heck of a lot of fun! If you miss the old Vegas with cheap food, cheaper beer, and fair games then this is the place for you. I hope it never changes. More

You get what you pay for. A one star hotel with air conditioned rooms, low limit tables, and easy access to downtown/fremont street experience. You don't hear noise from your room at night and the place is well staffed with fairly visible security. Note that the cab ride to the airport may cost more than your room. If you are... More

Uninterested staff, smoke-scented rooms, broken air-conditioners, and crummy perks worth $4.25 are just a few of the high points of this hotel. The only positive thing that I can say is that the geriatric security guard will keep you safe from the "colorful" locals with sad songs. I have never been to a cigarette smoke-scented hotel. Everything smells like a... More

If you love to gamble, but hate losing all of your money in the tight casinos on the strip...if you don't mind a "colorful" atmosphere, not much flash, lots of smoke, and gambling with very interesting locals...if you want to play $2 Blackjack and penny slots...this place is for you! More
