Not as pretty and "glitzy" as new properties in Vegas, but I will tell you, the new places do not pay out like the old school casinos in vegas. I'm a young traveller and will say that I get more action on the slots at places like this than in the newer places on the strip. I love the tropicana... more

Checked in to find the bedroom floor had not been cleaned and a few marks and stains on the bed linen. Couldn't get moved to a different room as there were apparently no more non-smoking rooms available, which was fair enough, but more worrying was the fact that the person at the front desk didn't seem overly concerned - or... more

My family and I stayed at Mandalay Bay for a week. My dad kept telling us to go to the 'older' casinos to gamble to win. Just to make him happy we went. He was very true! I played a monopoly game in the back w/ the 'loose slots' and started w/ $20 and walked away w/ an easy $95!... more

My wife and I went to the Tropicana casino during the evening on December 1. We sat down at a $5 blackjack table and played for about 3 hours. It took about a half hour to get our first cocktail as I think the waitresses were in the middle of a shift change. Once we got the first one though,... more

I loved our stay at the Tropicana, and the casino is really nice. Lots of card tables, slots, not too packed, and they have $5 min bets which most casino's never have. Probably the only casino on the strip with a $5 table always running. Lots of slots, great drink service, we played alot of poker there, not the best... more

No it's not one of those over priced hotel/casinos, the price was fair and the food was good. the landscape was absolutely fantastic. my stay there was great once I found my way to the parking structure from the island tower without going through the casino. I would stay here again. The titanc exhibit was really great and well priced more

I would have to say that I was a little weary after reading some of the reviews on here. In all honesty the Tropicana was not that bad. No, it wasn't the Bellagio, but I wasn't paying the price of the Bellagio either. Our room was dated, but it served its purpose. It was also a HUGE room. No, its... more

Wow, what a dump. No attractions, the rooms are old and the a/c did not work well. I hear that they are tearing down it down in a month or so. It is one of the original hotels, has not been upgraded or refurbished. Steakhouse is very good. more

Love the casino.....the atmosphere and excitement better than any of the stuffy, new "elite" casinos....this is what Vegas is about. My son stayed at MGM Grand but spent all his time at Tropicana.... more

Overall o.k., but had to wait an hour in the check-in line because of rush-hour before New Year. Room needed a fresh-up but was o.k. considering the moderate rates. Absent other alternatives in this price range on the stip, I'd recommend staying there. Always check troicana's own website, I found that they really stick to their lowest-rate guarantee. more
