After a long drive to Angora Lakes, it was extremely crowded, and we thought we would not find parking. The hike was short, which was nice, and we were able to find a rock where we could eat our lunch. If you forgot your lunch, though, they have a stand where they sell their "famous lemonade." I love Tahoe. I love Fallen leaf lake. But Angora..? I dont like it. Its beautiful, but theres something really wrong with it. I dont know if its something in the water or what, but its like you just stepped into another country..or the twilight zone. It scares me. I will never go back. more
A great place to start is at the desolation trailhead at Fallen Leaf lake. It is a relatively easy hike through some beautiful terrain to the first of the lakes. Once there you can sit and read, have lunch or continue on to another one. Its so beautiful and the perfect way to spend an afternoon with your friends, family... more
Angora Lakes is a beautiful place to go and see. It is meant for the whole family. It isnt that hard of a hike, but it is worth it! When you get there you can swim, relax, and you can go into the general store and look around and maybe even treat you to a special something to eat. Oh... more
