Lake Tahoe- anywhere on Lake Tahoe- is incredibly beautiful. It's so serene and clear and breathtaking. The park was well-kept, easy access, free parking- top notch! definitely recommend.

Many of the spectacular views and recreation areas along Lake Tahoe's north shore have been recently organized together as Lake Tahoe - Nevada State Park. This includes Sand Harbor, Spooner Lake, and multiple other trailheads, scenic outlooks and such activities as a nude beach (at the bottom of a 1/2-mile-long steep trail). Worth spending a full day exploring. Caution: Extremely... More

I'm an event planner for my company and recently had the splendid opportunity to find Gerald Scholl of Sierra Fin Addicts of Lake Tahoe! When we held our Sales Meeting in Lake Tahoe this year there was virtually no natural snow in Tahoe which is very rare, so I scrambled to find activities for 12 non-skiing attendees. Since the weather... More

The snow was not falling, but high up at Mt. Rose and Incline Village, children were tobogganing and skiers were on the lifts. We desired to just be IN the place, so we looked for somewhere that we could enjoy the winter in Lake Tahoe yet not be burdened by the snow. We found the perfect place - Incline Beach... More

We spent a beautiful fall afternoon at Spooner Lake, in the Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park. Saw only a few other people on the trail that circles the lake. The trail itself is a well-graded, easy 2+ mile walk through pine forest, aspen groves, and lakeside edges. There is something to see on every turn: huge pines, the lovely small... More

Driving on State Hiway 28 along the eastern side of Lake Tahoe is a real treat in the fall. We stopped by Spooner Lake State Park and had great hike around the lake. Lots of birds and outstanding fall color. Easy hiking and biking but more challenges within the park area. Fall has to be the best time to visit.... More

Spooner lake is by far our favorite hike at South Lake Tahoe. Right off Highway 50 on Highway 28 you come to a Nevada State Park called Spooner Lake. It costs $10 to enter. You can also park a little past the Highway 28 turnoff on the north side of 50 to access the lake. The trail from inside the... More

A stark difference from the California side of North Lake Tahoe that is completely private property for the 20 miles we drove until we gave up. The Nevada side has overlooks and turnouts at many places along the way providing much scenic beauty for photo ops.

This is a beautiful area right off the side of a perilous highway. There's limited parking but if you can find a spot, hike down to the boulders on the crystal blue water. You can't take a bad photo there.

We loved touring through Incline Village on the edge of Lake Tahoe! It was like visiting a little bit of Switzerland. The lake is gorgeous, and small beaches provided a nice respite to get out and touch a toe in the cool lake water. A beach bar served liquid refreshments and snacks, and you could just relax and breathe the... More
