We came to Lake Tahoe on our honeymoon and stayed at the Hyatt. We had a free shuttle to the mountain and the shuttle driver was very friendly and helped us get a three day pass with the fourth day for free for a very reasonable price. We got lessons included and are snowboard rentals and boots! When we arrived... More

My wife and I went to Diamond Peak earlier this month. (March 9-12) I had never skied before and my wife had been once as a child, so we were newbies. Our first day involved a private lesson, which I highly recommend if you have the time. We were incredibly fortunate to have Steve as our instructor. If it weren't... More

Snowflake Lodge does have great views but make note that you do have to ski down a blue run to get down. There are some lake views from the beginner runs for those not ready for intermediate trails. Thanks for the wonderful review. I hope you make it back this way! – Jackie More

After a couple more days of skiing or another lesson I bet your kids would be ready for the blue trails on Lakeview Chair. Sounds like an awesome ski trip! - Jackie More

Yes, it's small by other Tahoe resort standards, but it's a great place for a "warm-up" day. The views are killer! At the top of the Lakeview Chairlift is the Snowflake Lodge. Quick eats and drinks, but go out on the deck! The view of the lake is unsurpassed. There are a few great blue runs and the grooming is... More

saw an add in a local "what to do in Tahoe" flyer for a locals lunch, m-f from 11:00 to 1:00 for $25, including a $10 food voucher. checked on their web-site & did not see it there. was staying in Incline Village for my time-share week, so nice & close, decided to check it out, sure enough the ticket... Go to the top, spectacular view of Lake Tahoe and it's surrounding mountains. Smaller ski area, had zero wait times at the lifts and well groomed slopes, even if the 50 degree temps made it a bit heavy going.

Diamond Peak definitely is a hidden gem and our Crystal Ridge trail at the top made the World’s 100 Best Ski Runs list. Our groomers do an amazing job of keeping the slopes in great shape, even on those warmer days. Thanks for checking out Diamond Peak! -Jackie More

Diamond Peak is the best place for beginners, especially for family with kids want to learn ski, snowboard. If you are looking for some challenges, better go some other places like heveanly. One day lift ticket for beginner is $39, just one fourth of heveanly (as a beginner, you don't have much chances take those blue or black trails, so... More

Diamond Peak is not going to interest a really good skier for more than one or two runs. But it is a pleasant day to cruise with friends or take the family skiing. It keeps trying to be a big resort but just doesn't have the terrain or location to do it.

We do have some fun advanced terrain and tree skiing but due to the warm temperatures we’ve had recently, most of those trails are not open. Crystal Ridge and the Great Flume are great intermediate trails that are open and perfect for cruising. -Jackie More

We haved skied here many times in the past plus just this past Friday. Although it was very windy, several lifts were still operating. Conditions were mushy, but manageable. It seems to be a family friendly resort as there were many children skiing and taking lessons as well. The only criticism is that the tables in the lodge are very... More

We usually can keep all our lifts running on windy days when other resorts shut down, due to our elevation and orientation of the lifts. The base lodge can get crowded on a stormy day but if it’s sunny there’s plenty of space on the deck or the Snowflake Lodge. That storm actually brought in 2 feet of snow, so... More

For kids or beginners, this place is great. And, the rates are more reasonable than the big name places. The view at the top is breath taking and one of the best in North Shore. For expert skier's...well you're there for the kids to learn and enjoy the view.

We’re definitely one of the more affordable choices, especially if you’re bringing your whole family! We do have some fun advanced terrain and tree skiing that just opened up with the 24” of snow we got over the weekend. Come give us another try and I think you’ll agree. - Jackie More
