The best ski resort in Lake Tahoe that has the only run with a view of the lake while skiing. Plus the lounge at top of the hill over looking the lake.

Very friendly staff. I believe it is also the same place that manages the golf course as well and I enjoy both of these attractions. It is not the biggest but it does have the best views of the lake. Friendly people and good value.

We were surprised that there was sufficient snow for some good runs and that the grandkids could still be in ski lessons. DP did a great job of snow making and moving the snow to the runs. Of course, this is the 4th year of drought - this is not typical. We've been to this resort many times with plenty... More

Being from Western Australia, my husband and I had never seen snow let alone learnt to ski! Unfortunately we missed any snowfall, it was unusually warm while we were visiting the US. But we loved our 3 days at Lake Tahoe. We spent 2 days at Diamond Peak and the hills were more than enough for newbies. My ski lesson... More

Thanks for visiting us on your trip! Skiing is definitely easier to learn so I would suggest that your husband try skiing next time to see what he likes better. Stick with it, keep taking lessons, and you will have even more fun on the slopes. - Jackie More

I'm a former blue level skier whose most recent skiing was 2 years ago at Mt Aurora in Fairbanks -- and that was just a short 1/2 hour, enough to say I'd skied Alaska (see my Mt Aurora review if you're interested). I wanted to ski again during our week in Tahoe, but I knew I wouldn't be out there... More

The Local’s Lunch is a great deal for those who visit mid-week (non-holiday) and don’t have all day to ski. We are working on removing the conveyor belt for next season so come back and try us again! Next time you’re here, try the shorter blue runs on Lakeview Chair after a warm-up on Lodgepole. Popular and Penguin are a... More

We came to Lake Tahoe on our honeymoon and stayed at the Hyatt. We had a free shuttle to the mountain and the shuttle driver was very friendly and helped us get a three day pass with the fourth day for free for a very reasonable price. We got lessons included and are snowboard rentals and boots! When we arrived... More

My wife and I went to Diamond Peak earlier this month. (March 9-12) I had never skied before and my wife had been once as a child, so we were newbies. Our first day involved a private lesson, which I highly recommend if you have the time. We were incredibly fortunate to have Steve as our instructor. If it weren't... More

Snowflake Lodge does have great views but make note that you do have to ski down a blue run to get down. There are some lake views from the beginner runs for those not ready for intermediate trails. Thanks for the wonderful review. I hope you make it back this way! – Jackie More

We came with two children who had never skied before, so we signed them up for lessons and rented their gear. Rental was quick and easy; they were fitted for skis, poles, and boots. The instructor was very helpful, he taught them a lot and they seemed to like him. All of the staff there is very friendly and attentive. When... More

Yes, it's small by other Tahoe resort standards, but it's a great place for a "warm-up" day. The views are killer! At the top of the Lakeview Chairlift is the Snowflake Lodge. Quick eats and drinks, but go out on the deck! The view of the lake is unsurpassed. There are a few great blue runs and the grooming is... More
