We skied a few places around snow-lacking Tahoe this week, including Kirkwood, and the runs that Diamond Peak had open made it well worth a visit. The 2 runs off of Crystal Express high-speed quad, Flume and Crystal Ridge, kept us busy for most of the day. We've skied all over out west, but we decided to give Diamond Peak... More

Diamond Peak is a great mountain for beginner skiers who just want to get the feel of skiing without paying for a pricey lift ticket. For intermediate to advanced skiiers, I do not recommend it, as there are not many trails to keep you busy. Ski rentals are super cheap and there are no lines. Also, active duty military ski... We’re known for our beginner area and lessons but we also have some great terrain for intermediate and advanced skiers including awesome tree skiing. Once we get more snow and fully open there will be plenty of terrain to keep you busy. Thanks for your service and taking the time to write in! -Jackie More

Very close from incline village hotels. Great for beginers. Will advice to buy lift tickets and equipment rental at the Hyatt hotel sky store; this will save you a lot of time at the resort

We also offer a free shuttle from the Hyatt that leaves every 30 minutes making it very convenient for those staying there. Thanks for your review and hope to see you next time you’re in Tahoe! -Jackie More

Staff is friendly and very helpful. We haven't had much snow but this ski area makes snow and maintains it. The runs are long and challenging. The cafe at the top has a panoramic view of Lake Tahoe. Great food too.

Diamond Peak was actually the first ski resort in Tahoe to have snowmaking in the late 60’s and we continue to improve and invest in our snowmaking and grooming equipment. Thank you for your review, we love hearing from our skiers! - Jackie More

It is true that this place is good for beginners. Almost too good, because the beginning slopes are filled with instructors with green jackets and their hoard of students. I do like the fact that there is a beginner ski lift ticket option ($39) and a full day option ($69), though the beginning slopes were limited (only two green runs).... More

Thanks for sharing these great tips! It does sometimes get busy during the holidays so my tip would be to come on a regular weekend or weekday if you can. Once you are ready for the intermediate runs there are also less people and hardly ever a line. Hope to see you back! -Jackie More

We have never tried this ski resort, so we decided to try this time. I have 2 kids, so the main reason was the attractive lift ticket price for all of my family. We purchased the ticket at Sports Basement. Great value! 22 for kids 54 for adults! Got there ~ 10AM. Very crowded. No parking place, so we parked... More

We do offer a few preferred parking spots during holiday periods but the rest of the parking is free. There is also a tram that picks you up at your car if you have to park further away. Thanks for taking the time to review and we’ll see you next time! -Jackie More

A variety of pizzas that are much better and different that what you might find a chain pizza joint. Nice variety of other kinds of dishes. Atmosphere is very ordinary but clean and pleasant. Prices are reasonable 10 to 20 dollars American, wines are the middle of the road and priced OK, $7.50 glass up. Don't go in at noon... More

Everyone seems to break for lunch at around the same time so it’s best to take an early or late lunch if you want to avoid lines on weekends or try Wild Bill’s BBQ or Phatty’s on the deck. Our chair lifts rarely close for wind but bundle up if it is windy! Thanks for sharing your review. -Jackie More

One does not appreciate Diamond Peak Resort until you ski somewhere else. The customer service is superb and the lines short. It is perfect for a family outing on the slopes.

Conditions could have been better on opening day, but the Bar-B-Que provided to season pass holders by Wild Bill's and making new friends in the dining hall made the trip from Carson City totally worthwhile! All of WB's offerings were excellent and the ribs were exceptionally delicious. Looking forward to another excellent season of fantastic views, well-maintained and managed slopes... More

Thanks for coming out for opening day and we’re glad you enjoyed the new Wild Bill’s BBQ! Temperatures have dropped since opening day and we've been able to make a lot of snow and open new trails. Hope to see you back soon! More

The lodges are booth getting ratty, the food service is mixed and pricey, and the mountain the smallest in the region - yet the prices are equal to the far superior Ski Tahoe/Mt Rose.

Hi Steve, I’m sorry you feel the way you do about Diamond Peak. We renovated our Main Lodge in 2008 and built a new Skier Services building/Ski School in 2011. We feel our $64/$69 Adult lift ticket rate is far more affordable than some of the other resorts in the region, including Mt. Rose. Diamond Peak prides itself on its’... More
