Kudos to the visionaries. How terribly sad to see this resort community now. The initial view when you drive up to it and the first walk down the steps starts off incredulously - we're in the middle of the dessert and here's this resort community with water views and Italian style architecture. Within a short time the feeling changes. It... More

That is what we felt like....lonely. There were few people to be seen and not much to do the day we visited. Wrong time of the year I guess. Landscaping is gorgeous and grass it verdant green. The mountains and the city view were great.

Sadly, since last Christmas, even more of the village has closed. Frankly, I would not advise anyone coming unitl they get a cash infusion and revitalize the village. Hotels are fine...but it is the village that added to the lakeside ambience. Dried out and deserted golf courses...closed stores, shops, casino and restaurtants. This is my second Christmas holiday here..and while... More

The casino had the doors chained and locked. The ice cream shop closed the day before our visit. Many of the shops and most of the eateries are closed in this ghost town village. The golf courses are not operational, although there is word one will reopen Spring 2014. There currently are overnight accommodations available. This large community near Lake... More

Very nice venue good for honeymoon or need a quiet resort. Different than any hotel on the strip. Must need own transportation or willing to stay in one hotel casino. Nice drive to Lake Mead.

I have stayed at this resort several times per year for many years. Started when it was Hyatt, then Loews and now Westin. When it was the Hyatt it was great. Loews slightly worse. Now with Westin it has really gone down hill. I attribute this to management problems (i.e. management incompetence). The resort is beautiful as always. The problem... More

You can visit to see what the 2008 financial housing crisis led to. A resort in the desert that is partly developed. Why anyone would go here is beyond me. You can see the strip in the distance. That is the place to go if you come to Vegas.

I took my niece for lunch, it is so peaceful and we had a great lunch! Then we walked all around, we also window shopped in the very cool shops that are open. People need to start going here, it's a GEM in the desert.

Some cute restaurants and shops are at Lake Las Vegas, but you wonder how they survive. They have boats to charter and paddle boats and all that you would think would be good for a resort as a vacation spot. BUT... they don't cross market any of it. They should offer discounts to visitors to try the paddle boats or... More

Since the property drop in Las Vegas, Lake Las vegas has seen better days. The hotels and resorts are quite nice and pretty pricey. The golf courses are closed. The village is a nice place to walk around and have a bite to eat or a glass of wine. Check for local events as they have some fun ones.
