Total access to the working shop was great. On the train ride had difficulty hearing the narrator. The staff was very friendly and gladly answered questions

We were lucky to have a wine and cheese event while riding the Ghost Train. The Conductor gave us a great tour of the facility. The entire staff was very fun and accomodating. Lots of history. Highly suggest it, especially for the kids. They will love it.

If you want a very non commercial experience then Ely and the NNRY Polar Express is perfect for you. The staff are great and the experience is produced exceptionally well. It is very organized and you get treated like you have know the staff for years. Santa interacts with all of the children and parents on the train and spend... More

This is actually the train station used to film the movie Rat Race. It's a great and historical place to take the kids and in the winter they do the polar express. They also do various dinner trains through out the year that are wonderful! Obviously we have gone several times, it was just that fun.

All the staff were very helpful, courteous and informative. It was like experiencing a train ride in the olden days. Be sure to see the maintenance building and museum.

I visited the Nevada Northern in order to take part in their "Drive a Train" program. It was a fantastic experience. If a person is at all interested in being the engineer (Operator) of either a steam or diesel locomotive, this is the place to go. This is a completely different program than the one for the tourists that take... More

We took the Saturday "holdup tour" on the train pulled by the steam engine. My guess is that the steam engine moves the train at a rate of 5 to 10 miles per hour and makes the tour way too long. In fact, it was painful because the tour took longer than 2 hours and we didn't go very far.... More

Really makes you appreciate all the effort that goes into keeping Engine #93 chugging.....every shovel of coal needed ...alot of human effort. Staff really seem to love their jobs too.
