This is a great little course, fairly wide open and with 3 different 9 holes. Sometimes the rough is a little think but is usually green and fairly quick round. When the run a significant price special it can be packed otherwise usually a 4 hour round.

My personal favorite golf course in Carson City, and the surrounding area. Reasonably priced, excellent customer service and a really nice course, all around.

I am used to golf courses in the Southeast and they are vastly different. This course had very little in common with the usual courses I play. It was interesting but I am not a fan of the large amount of natural sand & bushes here. It's just what you get used to I guess. There were not many golfers... More

The greens were very difficult. The first 9 holes (Red coruse) had recently punched grees and cups that had not been re-cut for seveal days. There were areas where there were mud holes that you might expect right after a heavy rai. It hasn't rained much up here for a long stretch. The greens had dry brown spots everywhere. Rough... More

We love going there for brunch. The food is always good and the views are wonderful! We also have gone in large groups and the service has always been great!!

Our initial impression was just another course trying to squeeze on as many people without regard to the overall experience. While the weather itself offered it's own challenges the course itself was interesting and the greens were in great shape. This is a 27 hole course so the pace of play was very nice. Some waiting but overall the flow... More

If you look carefully at the reviews that were negative regarding Empire Ranch, those that hated it were in Spring of 2012. This course has a heck of a time with winter, and recovers quite well in late June, July, and August--and I assume through October or November. I play the course almost every year in August, and have never... More

We live in the area and golf at the Empire course about a dozen times a year or more. The course offers the best of everything Carson City has to offer. Visitors must remember we are in the desert and it is difficult to have lush greens even when watering constantly. Overall, we enjoy the water features and layout of... More

I have nothing to say that is positive about this place. I was invited to play this course as part of a three-day tournament sponsored by Gold Dust West Casino (GDW) in Carson City. Our tournament at Empire started at 8:00 am on the third day. This place was almost completely void of long-term maintenance. The layout exhibited significant weed... More

What a disappointing course. Most fairways are hardpan with little to no grass. The greens were awful. More dirt and weeds than grass. This course should be ashamed to promote itself as anything other than a driving range with flags.
