The Governor's Mansion as far as I know is not open to public tours except at Nevada Day celebrations (October 31st), but is well worth waiting in line for to see it. If the Governor is there you can get a picture with him. The property and the building is absolutely beautiful and is in a really good neighborhood in... More

The mansion was ready for halloween. The buildings and the grounds were covered in decorations. They had a roped area were the kids can stand in line and wait their turn to enter the mansion. The building itself is very nicely designed and not over the top.

If it weren't for the walking tour of Historic Carson City I never would have stumbled upon the Governor's Mansion. I didn't go inside, but was able to walk the perimeter of the property. It was amazing to get so close to such an important public figure's home. The grounds were impeccably maintained - garden-like. The house itself is classic... More

This is a great historical and beautiful building. Sure wish it was open to the public. Holidays are best to visit as they really deck it out but Labor Day weekend is not one they do anything special for.

We walked by while we were doing the Kit Carson trail. It is a nice place, unfortunately you can not go in and they do not give tours after all it is the Govenors mansion.

This old city has lots of history, museums, casinos, cafes, etc. The capitol city only has about 55,000 residents, so there's not a lot to do if you're not a gambler or historian. The Mansion was not open to visitors. The town has a theater/casino complex and a bowling alley. It's a cheaper place to stay than on Lake Tahoe... More

Going by the governor's mansion on a holiday is great because of all the decorations they put up. Sometimes they hold a breakfast in the building next to it! At Halloween you can meet the governor!

The Nevada governor's mansion is not open for tours, but anyone can drive by. We parked and walked the block and took a few photos of the lovely house. Around the corner, we were surprised to see a teenage party set up in the back yard. A chat with two adults at the sign-in table revealed that the home is... More

This was a very beautiful building... Very nice neighborhood! I could see us moving here when we retire. I wish I was the Governor.
