Memorial Day to Labor Day open 9-5 daily. The rest of the year open Monday's-Friday's 10-4. This elaborat house was part of William F. Cody's 4000 acre ranch in the area. It was constructed in the 1880s during his world tours of The Buffalo Bill Wild West Show tours. Despite it being called Scout's Rest, I heard from an old... More

We went last summer and visited the 'Ranch' the house has many artifacts to view. we arrived late in the day so we felt rushed through the house and never got to go into the out builds because they were closing up. The live buffalo were cool to see.

We stopped by on our way down the interstate and ended up having a picnic near the campgrounds at this State Historical Park. We visited the Buffalo Bill house, barn, and sod house, and they were all interesting. It doesn't take a lot of time to walk through, and the grounds are well-kept and pleasant. Driving through North Platte is... More

The ranch is a great place to stroll and relax if you have the time. The house and yard are well furnished and quite interesting. The log cabin is cute and fun. But its the barn that is amazing! It is huge and one can get an idea of how the horses inside were cared for. A visit could be... More

We expected a lot more from this place. There is a lot of interesting stuff here but it just seems like there should be more. Worth a quick trip but don't expect to spend more than an hour or so here. That being said my kids have been playing Buffalo Bill constantly since we visited a week ago. For kids... More

As many have said, the tour gives you a taste of the man and his history - and it is good value too at just $2 per adult. But and its a big but - the self guided tour is spoiled by poor information signage and a lack of cohesion in the way things are presented. In all it feels... More

This is the home Buffalo Bill lived in when he started his Wild West shows, Scouts Rest. Display includes many original pieces and a buffalo coat. There is a short film and you can tour the house, the grounds and the barn.

Traveling across NE we stopped at The BB Ranch and spent a couple pleasant hours transported back into the late 1800s. Tours are self-guided and it wasn't crowded at all. The house has been restored to original condition with period pieces, many are his or from his family. Lots of original photos on the walls and a film running upstairs... More
