Morton Salt family 52 room summer cabin, incredible grounds, carriage house and great stories. I had to ask? If this was their summer cabin... Where can I visit their main home?

The place spanned acres. You could walk with children on the sidewalks and visit many areas of the Arbor Lodge Park. There was something for everyone. Very relaxing and enjoyable!

This gem commemorating the home of Arbor Day Founder J. Sterling Morton is showcased by the 52-room neo-colonial mansion that served as his home for many years. The stately Sterling Oak adorns the grounds, as well as an abundance of trees, flora, and fauna. Acres of oaks, chestnuts, maples, and pines, as well as a number of favorite flowering shrubs... More

Grand, original mansion in NE City! You can see all of the hard work and intricate carvings in this 150-year-old building, going room by room. Lots of awards grace the walls and there is quite a collection of books here too. Brick roads surround the property. You can even use a original machine to make apple cider nearby, and learn... More

The Morton family home was established when there wasn't anything in the west except indians. The phrase "go west, young man" was right on for the Mortons. A real diamond in the "frontier"

A great place to take the family. Close to the Arbor day Farm and also the Lied Lodge. Right off old Hwy #2 and a nice break from a long trip or just an outing for the day if you are in the area.

There are those places that are a must see on an historical basis and for our area this is one of those attractions. Nicely maintained.
