I had heard about this museum a number of times, but had no idea about the vast collection on display. I agree with other reviewers that you don't have to be a total car or racing buff to appreciate the amazing cars and artifacts on display. There are many race cars and engines throughout the museum. The 1930 Duesenberg and... More

Fantastic museum! Call first for tour hours because they are limited. Get a great tour with a private tour guide. Loved the pedal car level.

This place is a must see if you are visiting Lincoln. Even if you are not a race car buff, the guided tour is very interesting as it gives a rare peek into the history of one of the most exciting American sports. he cars are neatly laid out in sections spanning three floors of the building. An extensive display of the history of dirt track auto racing. This museum covers sprint, midget and indianapolis racing better and more thoroughly than any I've seen. The displays are extremly well organized and descriptive. The tour guides are tremendously knowledgeable. The displays of pedal cars and scale models are equally as impressive.

This place just blew my mind. So much to see and enjoy, and if you get the tour from the right docent the experience is even better. I expected a few cars and some information, but got hundreds of cars, with great information and in a immaculate setting!!!

Even if you are not into cars this is the place to see. Rare cars, toys, antiques, amazing through out. We were at a special event, so you may want to get more information on hours of operation, as I am sure they are not open every day.

You are correct, we do have limited hours over the winter. We are using this time to improve the museum. In 2015 we will be opening a new area with new displays. In the mean time we do open up on Fridays for guided tours starting promptly at 2:00 PM. It is always a good idea to be here around... More

You don't have to be a racing enthusiasts to love this museum. Some incredible cars on display along with over 300 engines! And I really liked how they have it laid out and make the different displays look like you are Indy in the Gasoline Alley garages or up against the wall at Daytona.

I spent a very enjoyable and WAAAAY to short of a visit (if you can call a 3 hour walking tour short!) to the Museum of American Speed, compiled by "Speedy" Bill Smith. I was totally not prepared for the breadth of the collection and could have spent twice the time (if my bum knee would have been better!). I... More
