It reeks with historical views detailing the history of the State of Nebraska. it is the principal place where the Unicameral Legislature makes the decisions about our State's future. It houses a law library and all the offices of the State officials. The clean vertical lines of this architectural masterpiece topped with the Sower on its peak can be seen... More

We took the tour (every hour except noon) and found the mosaics, paintings and busts tell the history of Nebraska. The artwork is beautiful and the view from the observation tower is marvelous. Within the next 2 years they will finally complete the original vision of the architect when the four fountains are placed in the interior courtyards. Surprising is... More

The Nebraska State Capitol has lots of beautiful features. The mosaics on the floor, the murals on the walls, and the rotunda are all impressive. I'm sure they'd be even more impressive if they had adequate lighting. We were there on a gloomy day. We had an excellent tour that took us through the building and explained the building and... It's a beautiful building, even if they don't want to tell you how to get in. We persevered and found a door. Did a self guided tour and the chamber is nice. Overall building is about like most state capitols.

This capitol building is BEAUTIFUL! Tours start on the hour (except at noon) and walk you through this amazing building. The nation's only one-house (unicameral) legislature is housed here, along with the governor's office and the Nebraska Supreme Court. All three branches of government in one building! The marble, the artwork, the mosaics are impressive. It's open, not flanked by... More

Beautiful Historic Building. I love to visit a couple times a year to enjoy the artwork, the courtyard and the view from the top. I also got married in the courtyard and loved the location.

I actually went there to pick up something from the Governor's office. I love the architecture there, but it is so dark! I think it would suck the life out of me to work there, it just isn't a bright and cheery place. However, if they changed the lighting and made it bright, I think it would really take away... More

The guided tour is very interesting, not too long, and just enough information. Very well done. The art work, paintings, mosaics, tapestries, etc. is just fascinating to see. Don't skip going to the top of the tower, either! We really enjoyed our tour!
