The Nebraska state capitol is both beautiful and unusual in so many ways. External elevations, art deco murals, feminine imagery, fabulous woodcarvings (Governor's waiting room and offices), the Warner Senate Chamber and on and on. But my favorite gallery is on the 14th floor, where high above the visitor are eight, large 3x8 paintings which depict the heroic enterprises of... More

Nice place in the center of Lincoln. Parking was bad and the traffic didn't help either. I enjoyed this site. It is very nice at night!

I went on a Sunday, it was a quiet day in town. I had a private tour as no one else showed up. The building is stunning! I toured quite a few Midwest Capitol buildings this weekend and this was at the top (alongside Iowa). The tour guide was fantastic and gave me an excellent private tour. He knew everything... More

It reeks with historical views detailing the history of the State of Nebraska. it is the principal place where the Unicameral Legislature makes the decisions about our State's future. It houses a law library and all the offices of the State officials. The clean vertical lines of this architectural masterpiece topped with the Sower on its peak can be seen... More

We took the tour (every hour except noon) and found the mosaics, paintings and busts tell the history of Nebraska. The artwork is beautiful and the view from the observation tower is marvelous. Within the next 2 years they will finally complete the original vision of the architect when the four fountains are placed in the interior courtyards. Surprising is... More

The Nebraska State Capitol has lots of beautiful features. The mosaics on the floor, the murals on the walls, and the rotunda are all impressive. I'm sure they'd be even more impressive if they had adequate lighting. We were there on a gloomy day. We had an excellent tour that took us through the building and explained the building and... It's a beautiful building, even if they don't want to tell you how to get in. We persevered and found a door. Did a self guided tour and the chamber is nice. Overall building is about like most state capitols.

This capitol building is BEAUTIFUL! Tours start on the hour (except at noon) and walk you through this amazing building. The nation's only one-house (unicameral) legislature is housed here, along with the governor's office and the Nebraska Supreme Court. All three branches of government in one building! The marble, the artwork, the mosaics are impressive. It's open, not flanked by... More
