Every step of the way, this tour was a story and a piece of art. Mosaics, wonderful architecture, beautiful paintings, and artists telling a story about Nebraska. There was nothing to dislike.

Nebraska has a skyscraper type capitol. Its free and fun to take the kids to the lookout, about twenty stories up. Its the tallest building in Lincoln. Some neat art deco art in the building. You can have a fun hour or so there.

Picturesque building from the outside, with stylised architecture on the inside. Generally quiet, with plenty of information on the city's history, and bronze busts of important people. Fantastic murals up at the top along with the ever extending views of Lincoln and the surrounding Nebraska countryside from the observation deck.

The capitol is located just south of downtown in Lincoln Nebraska. The building is open to the public during normal office hours. I have been going there since I was very young and love to take my children now. The sower located on the top is a symbol of the hard working men and women of the great state.

Since we enjoy visiting state capitol buildings, a stop into Nebraska's state capitol was a must when passing thru Lincoln. What a unique building! Taking a ride up to the top in any of the four antique elevators is a trip, but once upstairs, the chilly walk and view from the top is amazing. The middle rotunda with it's wonderful... More

Every stone , mural, mosaic, and quote has meaning and purpose, telling the story of Nebraska and its people. The observation decks provide a beautiful panoramic view of the city and... More

Much historic detail is built into this building, from the Native American designs and mural, to the historic quotes included in the architecture, to the unique symbol atop the structure. Tour guides are available, and one can visit the gallery of the unicameral (only one of its kind in the US) legislature in progress. Busts of famous Nebraskans adorn the... More
