My sister, my friend from Texas, and I visited on a Sunday afternoon. We took a tour led by a knowledgeable guide who spoke of the murals, the materials used, all the Capitol history, and the government business done in the different areas. It is a beautiful and well-planned building inside and out. Only certain elevators take you where you... More

Nebraska's State Capitol is spectacular and is worth your time to visit. You can explore several floors that contain rich historical artifacts & treasures as you take your own self guided tour. This capitol is Majestic and is the "Gem of the Plains." Make sure you visit the bookstore/gift shop on the bottom floor. You will discover historical hidden treasures... More

This is a beautiful building with lovely mosaics, woodwork and artwork. It is the home of the nation's only unicameral. Tours are available

The capitol has some interesting quirks so it is fun to go on the tour to hear about the history. I am not a history buff, but I enjoyed hearing about the tiles and other details that make it unique. It is very dark to take photos and there are many doors that you aren't allowed to open, but it... More

This was a part of our Memorial Day trip, and it was fantastic to see the grandeur and architecture of the Capitol. The view of Lincoln from the observation deck is great, the kids loved it!

As we had an opportunity to walk around outside, then wander around within, our appreciation for it grew and grew: the mosaic floor of prehistoric creatures, art deco decorations, the immensely high dome and the view over Lincoln. We ended up enjoying it quite... More

the state capitol offered tour groups and very insightful information about nebraska itself. Lots of statues and paintings around to look at. they had the doors to the nebraska courts open for us to look in and see too. Very cool

This was build during the depression and was only build in stages as the state could afford to build. the mosaics are awesome and the view from the top is spectacular.

We had a great tie exploring the Capital Building and learning about some of the history! We went on a Sunday so much of it was locked up, but we still were able to enjoy and explore! Great Sunday afternoon outing for the entire family! oh, and it's free!
