I am in the bank travel industry. I take senior citizens on bus tours. I took a group to Omaha the week of 7-20. On Wednesday, 7-22 we spent the day in Lincoln. Our first stop was the state capitol. Beautiful building! Roxanne was our tour guide. She was a delight. Roxanne was very informative about the history of Nebraska... More

A beautiful stop for a quick photo opportunity. We arrived outside the posted hours, so we were only able to view the outside. It was very nice, and bigger than we expected.

One of the best state capitals in America! When you go you have to go to the top, which is way up there. Great view of the city!

The building was pretty empty when I visited. There were a few locals around who were walking for exercise. Architecture was interesting, it's nice to see some of the history behind the capitol.

There is not much happening around the capital, it's a business/guv district with little to no activity when I was there in the evening. Impressive building, unusually tall.

Nice place to visit, not that big that I thought it was going to be. But its something entertaining to do in the city. Be careful when you are driving around. The streets on this area are numbers or just letters. It gets confusing to get there.

I think the capitol is lovely & very interesting. We did not take a tour because my friend thought it a little long last time she was there. But I think it would have been more interesting to have taken it. It was a little hard to know which door to go into. As we were trying to figure that... More

If you are anywhere are Lincoln NE whether you live by or are just passing thru you need to see this place. Immense detail every where you look. Fantastic wood work in the legislative chamber, and supreme court room. Great observation views from 14 stories above the city, and plenty of stories about the history of the building and state.... We had a short tour, the guide was informative and succinct. We were given the history of the building, a bit of background on the state legislature, and we sat for a short while in the supreme courtroom. Tour was appropriate for school aged kids, would probably be of no interest to younger children. Check out the gift shop and... More

Spent a great 40 minutes with an excellent guide. He did a great job bringing the building to life. Only problems was being part of a large, non-English speaking group that required translation for the entire presentation. It would have been considerate of us to break the group off and do a separate tour for them. Still great in spite... More
