Much historic detail is built into this building, from the Native American designs and mural, to the historic quotes included in the architecture, to the unique symbol atop the structure. Tour guides are available, and one can visit the gallery of the unicameral (only one of its kind in the US) legislature in progress. Busts of famous Nebraskans adorn the... More

The Capitol architecture is spectacular, seeped deep in history. The staff are a wealth of knowledge. I recommend the tours and a tip up the elevator to see the top!

That is what it says over the south entrance of the capital building. Very informative and interesting. Enter the building on the main floor and walk to the center (under the tower) of the building where you will find the information desk. They will get you pointed in the right direction.

The capitol is easy to find and the building is beautiful. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. It's the best attraction we've visited in Lincoln.

Yes - romantic. The first time I went there was on Valentine's day. I didn't tell hubby we were going until the day of. We went through the tour, which was interesting. The stories of the art made it even more interesting, the tour guide was very informative. As we were doing the tour, we saw of couple brides and... More

I worked in Lincoln from 1989 to 1992 and was in the Capitol many times working or meeting with Senators, but never took the time to view the floors, murals or windows. This time my wife (who had never been inside) and I were just amazed with our guided tour.

No state has a unicameral government let alone a capitol building like Nebraska's! It towers tall and stately over the capital city and can be seen for miles before you reach Lincoln. There is wonderful art, statuary, and mosaics to be found around every turn. You can wander and look to your hearts content but the guided tours are very... More

what a spectacular attraction. Do take the tour, it's 1/2 hour. We had a nice spoken guide and although he had only been there a year, he was quite knowledgable and interesting. Best part was sitting in the old senate chamber at the desks. Be sure to take the elevator to the 14 floor. Beautiful rotunda up there and two... More

The Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln is often overlooked as a destination, but it is a true, "Can't Miss" the architecture inside is inspiring, and the observation decks at the top are amazing for young and old.

The State Capitol is an awesome landmark - if you can spare an extra hour to tour the inside, you will learn about Nebraska history as well as seeing the beautiful marble columns and architecture. Be sure to take the elevators to 14th floor to view Lincoln from the top of the building! Tours are free, happen every hour until... More
