Easy Accessibility in town. Great place to take a walk, play on the playground, or take your kayak for a spin.

Not a huge lake, but close to other Lincoln attractions. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here but it is a nice place to take the kids to let them burn off some energy. Walking/Biking trail around the lake is nice for exercise. Dog run across the street is a great place to let your pup run... More

Holmes park has been a great place to meet friends and family for a picnic with a view of the lake. Lots of bikers and runners take advantage of the path around the lake. Beautiful at daybreak and sunset. Needs boat options as it used to have.

This mature park centers around Holmes Lake. While the lake is designed to protect the city from flooding it provides a pleasant park experience. I particularly enjoy riding my bike across the dam which affords a unique view towards downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods. There are excellent bike/hike trails which provide access to/throughout the park. It is a very safe... More

Park is very large with several playgrounds. They have a path around the lake for strolling or fishing. Can't swim there anymore but it is beautiful to visit and see all the leaves change on the trees. There are bathrooms and baseball diamond. Lake is large enough that you will see boaters and parasailors.

Whether a group event, a family picnic, or a venue for a stroll or power walk, this is an amazing place within the city. It does not disappoint. Families come to enjoy nature in any number of ways.

I walk around the lake a lot. I have done so for 19 years and have never grown tired of it. I generally see someone I know every time I do walk around. I feel safe here, even when it is getting dark. It is one of the best places to watch the sun set in Lincoln. It has left... More

My wife, sister and I biked this trail on a visit to Lincoln and loved being so close to the lake and being able to even bike across the dam overlooking the lake. The trees along the path provided some shade and lots of beauty.

Great place to exercise, picnic or bring the little ones to play on the playground equipment. Very nice paved area all around the lake to enjoy a long walk. I would like to see nicer restrooms for such a well traveled area.

This is a nice park. There is a lake with a walking path that goes around it. It's about a 2 mile loop with a slight incline. There were people in kayaks and other water activities. There are covered areas for gatherings and people were having fun. Parking was easy and close to the lake and trail. It was a... More

This is a great place to watch the sunrise, walk and chat with the walkers and fishermen/women. If you like photography, the waterfowl and plants are particularly wonderful. There are picnic facilities and a golf course also available.
