This is a great stop while driving across Nebraska. Pioneer life is portrayed through individual stories you listen to via headsets. Great displays that bring the stories to life. My husband & I enjoyed it along with our 12 year old granddaughter. I seleted "family with teens" for what sort of visit this is but I think it is good... More

Even our toddler liked it! (And she got in free!) Worth the price. Learned a lot. Very interactive and cooler than it looks from the oustide. Don't miss the outdoor stuff across the bridge!

I took 5 of my grandchildren to the Archway, ages 5-13. They loved it. We were there 3 1/2-4 hrs. They enjoyed it immensely. They loved walking through the Arch & feeding the fish from the bridge. At the Earth Lodge, the Native American girl was great in providing them information about the lodge and the crops being grown there. At... More

The concept is great and obviously a lot of work went into this, but you are given headsets to wear to hear what are interesting "color" stories to enhance the displays and I personally am not fond of wearing headsets so maybe this review is a bit bias. Also, the sound effects are really loud. Disappointed there was only one... More

We were just passing through Kearney and stopped for a one day. This came up as the best thing to do in town. Wow, were they right! We spent about four hours there and it was simply outstanding. We ranged in age from senior citizens to four years old and everyone thought it was absolutely fantastic. It was like walking... More

Plan to stop at exit 272, Kearney, Nebraska for a visit to this capsule of American History. There is enough parking for large RV's and busses. Worth the hour or two it takes and moderate cost of a ticket to walk through the re-creation of our nation's expansion west along the great Platte River. An outdoor walk-about, costumed interpretors, and... More

Unbelivable that this is a museum over and interstate. It was just amazing! The museum is so educational, and fun! It is truly a Nebraska Gem!

Well done dioramas with accompanying audio. Covers the span from pioneer times thru to the present. Learned quite a bit - thanks!

Went there and it was awe inspiring. The entire museum was geared to the progress of America, the march Westward, and the Industrial Revolution. At the end, the tourists are shepherded out the door to the dulcet tones of Woody Guthrie singing "This Land Is Your Land". I told the guide "After this entire thing was geared to "Rah, rah,... We recently visited the archway monument again with some visiting family. For anyone interested in Oregon trail history, this is a fun place to go. It appeals to all ages and is not so huge as to bore a person. The Pony Express display and the life-like faces in the different settings are very well done. The earphones they give you... More
