We love to stop in different breweries, especially our home state of Montana. This was our first time to this brewery and an excellent choice. I enjoyed the Highlander Scottish Ale and my husband had the IPA. The food and service upstairs were exceptional. After two long days of hiking this was a great respit to end our trip. I... More

We stopped into the Great Northern Brewing Company and decided to sit at the small serving counter downstairs in the Black Star Draught house. It seemed to be very popular as there was a constant stream of patrons going up and down the stairs! There was a large group in the downstairs area too sitting on the sofa and bar... More

I love Black Star! They have some amazing seasonals, so I would recommend always trying whatever brew is on tap for the season. This is especially great if you like bear with flavor and dimension! Don't be afraid to strike up a conversation with the locals. This is a popular local hang out, and they will all share tips about... More

We loved it. The building is really cool and the beers were good. Make sure you go upstairs to the gameroom in the warehouse.

A very nice light lager, not overpowering like many microbrews have become. I hope that it shows up on the east coast soon.

First of all let me state I am a beer geek and a beer tourist. I purposefully seek out places like this when I am on vacation so I am highly critical when it comes to my beers. In terms of the quality of the beers for fellow beer geeks, they are average to below average, though I suspect those... More

Ask for a flight, it's a tasting of all their beer's for $9.50. So good! We shared one and i was feeling no pain and thought they all tasted great by the end of it. ;) Apparently they did have food there but that was not a focus.

We went here every day during our trip. We enjoyed sitting at the bar downstairs and talking with the awesome bar tenders. They were friendly and very knowledgeable of the beer. And the beer was some of the best I've tasted. The IPA was excellent and my wife enjoyed the Huckleberry. I highly suggest going here. Take a seat at... More

The brewery is always on our radar list to share with friends. We love the sampler platter and love the huckleberry beer! No food here so come fed before you arrive.

Very Friendly - The veggie sandwich was the best vegetarian meal I have ever had. We had two couples and two kids ages 6 and 8 and they loved the root beer floats, with the root beer made on the premises. The Brews were excellent, and there was good variety. That would be my "local" if there was such a... More
