Snowbowl is nice that it is right by Missoula, but it's not much of a ski resort. The price is very high for usually not that great of snow, and the mountain can really get crowded later in the day. Afterwards the day can really improve by visiting the bar for some food and local beer. Just avoid Tamarack beer... More

We were at Snowbowl for the first time this weekend for our kids' YSL ski race. It is a great hill for spectating, and we also got to watch the annual Gelande Alpine ski jumping competition, which was pretty amazing. But if you actually want to SKI - go somewhere else! There are only 2 lifts, both are slow. Very... More

This is one of the last Ma and Paw ski resorts in the USA. It is filled with mostly locals, it is not much of a destination resort 2600 vertical feet of sking. One of the best bars around Missoula. If you like good steep sking the bowl is great. Intermediates and beginners will be mostly at the top on... More

the lifts are hands down the most frightening lifts i've ever experienced--rickety, old metal two-seaters. they move rather slowly, and the drop is terrifying. it takes approximately 20-30 minutes to reach the top of the mountain. however, they do allow you to take drinks from the lodge on the lifts, so you can get schnockered enough to not be afraid... The two full length runs are for advanced skiers, but there's some intermediate areas at the top and going down "the bowl." Nice area!

It's not the amount of lifts you pay for, it's the kick a*s terrain! I would even say, for ONLY having 2 lifts you couldn't ask for more or bettter terrain! As far as the service goes, everyone is SUPER friendly, unless you're an a*s hole to them like this guy in the post above most likely is! The lift... More

Great ski area, especially if you like the steeps. Not the best for families, but certainly doable. I took my five year old son there and had a blast. Lifts are old and slow, but you can access a lot of terrain with just the two lifts. Great bar, great food, great apres ski scene. Can be crowded on weekends,... More

I grew up skiing here over 15 years very overpriced for the amount of lifts and terrible service. Always nervous on the lifts and the operators seem buzzed or high. Beautiful mountain though only reason why i go. Check out the bowls and paradise is breathtaking on a sunny day.

NOT for beginners - this is a black diamond paradise. 20 minutes from town - get ready to go straight up and down. Spectacular views from the top and serious skiers abound. If you like a challenge and want to get away for a few short hours - this is the place to go.

snowbowl has wonderful very advanced skiing terrain and low prices. however, that is where its advantages stop. their service often rises to the level of spectacularly bad. they almost never answer their phone. they return calls at best sporadically. on huge event days they will sometimes "forget" to schedule enough window ticket sellers. their lodge is almost entirely unimproved since...
