Nice little walk by the river

Just strolled down the park and enjoyed the statues and information about the area. A really nice place to chill out on a beautiful day like today!

.Located adjacent to Missoula's downtown and the river "that runs through it", this park serves as a recreational venue for bikers, walkers and families with kids. There is a carousel and ice cream parlor, a bandstand and other points of interest, all of which make this a place for people with diverse recreational needs, from a morning constitutional for a... This was a highlight of our time in Missoula -- we loved the farmers market on Saturday morning (lots to see, taste, and do there!), checking out the Carousel and playground, and just enjoying the people (so friendly!) that were wandering through the park. Parking will cost you, except for weekends.

We enjoyed walking and biking around the city and this park was a good starting point for exploring. Last night (Friday) featured a good live band and today there was a large farmer's market.

The park appeared to be a hangout for the pot smokers and drunks. Not many people in evidence. Watched one guy trying to surf the wave, but an old drunk kept mumbling at the ladies and made them nervous.

Caras Park is a great place to visit when there is an event. In the summer there is a weekly lunch in the park there, every Wednesday. There is supper in the park every Thursday evening. Watch local calendars for other great events held here (which might include The Made Fair, or Celtic Festival, just to name a few). If... More

We happen to be there on a Weds mid morning. They had PBS doing a free show. There were about 20 food venders there. The music was very good. Great seating and a wonderful surprise to find this going on.

In our cross country trip, WiFi has been hard to come by. We were tickled to have an unexpected connection in the park - all while catching a free Friday night concert, huckleberry shakes, and getting a kick out of seeing "surfers" in the middle of Missoula.

Nice park in town to walk around after dinner or ice cream. The park has a nice family atmosphere. The bugs can get bad once the sun goes down, so beware.

On our way to yellowstone, we stopped because of close proximity to I90. Line for parking on monday at noon took 30 mins (too long). Mens bathrooms not in good shape and picnic tables were not positioned to see the river or scenery.....we were told we could walk down under bridge to get out of rain, but we opted for... More
