having a few hours to spend we wealked along he trail in Caras Park. The walk by the rivedr is most pleasant. Whilst walking by the reiver we saw a man riding the waves on a surf board which provided entertainment for fifteen minutes.

Caras Park has become a main gathering point for Missoula. Wednesdays offers great lunch trucks and a fun festival atmosphere, as does Thursday nights. Great food trucks, live music, great access to Brennan's Wave on the Clark Fork, a large farmer's market on Saturday mornings, and a post race pavillion for the Missoula Marathon/Half. Love this place!

I visited here as a part of the Missoula Marathon. The race expo was held under the pavilion, and the finish area centered around the park. Even under the shade of the pavilion, it was like a wood oven. Plenty of free parking, though.

We stumbled upon this park by accident after eating at the Tamarack Brewery (which I highly recommend). The carousel was a blast and only cost 0.75/ride with people with physical or mental disabilities enjoying it for free. Beside the carousel is Dragon's Hollow, a fort-like playground with a beautiful sound garden and scavenger hunts on tiles throughout the playground. The... More

I went to ride the Carousel and ended up spending half a day also enjoying some of the other activities the park has to offer. By all means ride the Carousel and learn its history, but there is much more to see and do. Kids were enjoying Dragon Hollow right next door to the Carousel while others were picnicking. I... More

Plan a day at Caras Park. Parking is somewhat problematic and expensive in my mind; park blocks away and stroll over. A safe park for families, individuals and those with accessability needs. There is the Children's Museum across the street, the nicest carousel in Montana, a fantastic trail system that can take you to the University and along the scenic... More

Caras Park is a large park facility in Missoula Montana. It is home to the famed Missoula Carousel (see carousel review). It has property along the Clark Fork River and is a popular community spot for events, and for walking, jogging and biking. One reviewer said "There is ALWAYS something going on". Well, not quite. In early April, it's cold,... More
