I's not Glacier but it is still beautiful.

People are stating that Flathead Lake isn't as beautiful as Glacier which might be true but that's like saying an apple doesn't taste like an orange. They're different things. We spent hours in one of the state parks (I don't recall which one) sorting through the beach pebbles looking for different and interesting shapes and colors, fishing off the shore,... More

Once you have seen one mountain lake they are all pretty but that is it. Expansive body of water but that was it. Very windy and white caps prevented us from a boat ride etc.

We stayed here and explored everything from Going to the Sun Road to Whitefish. Nice spacious campsites. We were in "Loop B" high up over the lake. The lakeside campsites have better views, but because we were touring the area and only slept there, the hill side worked fine for us. They have no dump station, but Edgewood RV Park,... More

We did not have a boat and with difficulty found a state park. Excellent for camping and boating. The trip boats were not in action in early June so we could not get on the lake. However it was possible to rent a canoe.

Amazing beautiful lake but not with a lot of lake access. My review here is for Finley State Park. It is basically a parking lot on the lake. We pulled in late in the day and basically had to leave because the camp host was the nastiest piece of work I have ever encountered as a camp host in my... More

oodles of trails with plenty of 'varmints'. Streams and lakes. Snowcaps and 35 degree lakes. People from all over, smiling! It's as if everybody feels good, even sort of lucky to be there,

We travelled from Calgary, Canada for the May 15-18, 2015 long weekend. The scenery along the way was breathtaking. We rented a Yurt, and were amazed at how economical they were. Inside held everything we really needed: 2 rollaway cots and a double futon, a heater, a fan, table and chairs, shelves, and electrical outlets. Outside was a firepit and... More

My visit date is nebulous. It's one of several MT State Parks around Flathead Lake, all completely outfitted for RVs and other overnight "campers." There are boat ramps. I don't know what the rates are, but to visit a park, it cost $3 last time I was there. Maybe more, now, & deservedly. Nothing to dislike. I just did a... More

Nothing not to like. Access to the largest lake west of the Mississippi. Boating, fishing, swimming. Great place to visit and play.
