Montana has a beautiful capitol. We took the self-guided tour, which was easy and very well done. Good descriptions of the statuary, art, wonderful frescoes, and stained glass windows in this amazingly restored place. If you are an art lover and a western history aficianado, don't miss a tour of this place. more

I had the pleasure of having a tour of the Montana State Capitol Building guided by a history teacher named Dallas. Tours are given every hour or so, check locally for hours and details. From the outside of the capitol, you can already tell of what it will look like on the inside. Inside, the main domed area has many paintings, statues, and tons of little details. The marble stairs are original and the first two floors of walls and details have been restored, but the rest has been remodeled. The paintings deplict those... more
