My mom visited, and had an employee be extremely rude to her. A few weeks later, I took a visit, and was completely ignored by the same employee while other customers were served. This is unacceptable for any business.

The Parrot is known for its hand made & hand dipped candies. I like the chocolate & nuts (all kinds of different nuts) best. It also has a soda fountain with the old wooden booths and a record player.

A friend and I sat down in the booth and when the larger older gentleman working that Saturday walked by, I asked do we order from here or the table, without saying a word he put his hand up to my face and walked off. He came back a minute later to take the order. A minute when he is... More

Step in and you'll feel like you dropped back 5 decades. It's the real deal - not a re-creation. This distinctive little shop in downtown Helena with its old time soda fountain and hand dipped chocolates is a gem. Be sure to ask how to see the gals in the back hand dipping the chocolates.

We live in Helena, and stop by the Parrot once a week for a treat (candy or ice cream). Generally speaking, we think it delivers great product and service. However, a recent experience suggests that customers should avoid visiting the Parrot near closing time. Here is what happened.... Although usually we go to the Parrot over the lunch hour, this... I lived in Helena, Montana in the early 60s. The Parrot Confectionary was the place to go for an ice cream soda, a snack, and for the best chocolates in town. I had not visited Helena since I left this beautiful city in 1965. The Parrot is still the way I remember it. The place looks the same, the menu... More

This placed received a strong recommendation from the front desk clerk at our hotel so we went to see it. Well it was quite impressive to see an old fashioned soda fountain and chocolate store it was not the most impressive or the biggest I've ever seen. If you go to Marv's in Black Diamond Alberta and a better selection... More

This a great candy shop and 1950's type restaurant. It is also an old time soda shop. Very fun place for kids, grandparents and any other guests you may have visiting.

A one day stop in Helena demands a stop at the Parrot. Between all sorts of their made candy treats, and great ice cream treats, they have not changed in forty years. Everything very good. We seemed to have the whole local school in there during our last stop, but what fun to see the whole work so well. This... More

As a chocolate lover who enjoys trying chocolates during travel all over the world, of course I have to stop in and try a few selections of chocolate to see how they compare. First, the man helping us was so patient answering all our questions and making recommendations. He also made sure to wash his hands between handling money and... More
