A step back in time! So fun standing at the antique chocolate case trying to decide which chocolates to buy. The chocolates are expensive but these are all hand dipped in the back room! If you come in the back door you get to see where all of the magic happens. The food served isn't fancy but it is a... More

This is a perennial favorite store. We stop here every year to enjoy chocolate, vanilla and cherry Cokes made the old-fashioned way! For lunch, the hot dogs and homemade chili can't be beat! The candy is lovely and pure- no wax in the chocolate, and no additives in the other candies! All candies in the counter are made on the... More

I was quite surprised at the cost of their chocolates...$21 a pound! I decided to buy just a few to see how good they were before investing in more. They were sweet and tasty, but nothing that I would ever feel the need to buy again.

If you want to go back to the past, this is the place to go! They make there own candies, and Ice Cream! Home made Chili, and hot dogs during the summer! The hand dipped candy, is yummy, and you can walk through and see how its all done! Great place to the the family!!

My mom visited, and had an employee be extremely rude to her. A few weeks later, I took a visit, and was completely ignored by the same employee while other customers were served. This is unacceptable for any business.

The Parrot is known for its hand made & hand dipped candies. I like the chocolate & nuts (all kinds of different nuts) best. It also has a soda fountain with the old wooden booths and a record player.

A friend and I sat down in the booth and when the larger older gentleman working that Saturday walked by, I asked do we order from here or the table, without saying a word he put his hand up to my face and walked off. He came back a minute later to take the order. A minute when he is... More

Step in and you'll feel like you dropped back 5 decades. It's the real deal - not a re-creation. This distinctive little shop in downtown Helena with its old time soda fountain and hand dipped chocolates is a gem. Be sure to ask how to see the gals in the back hand dipping the chocolates.

We live in Helena, and stop by the Parrot once a week for a treat (candy or ice cream). Generally speaking, we think it delivers great product and service. However, a recent experience suggests that customers should avoid visiting the Parrot near closing time. Here is what happened.... Although usually we go to the Parrot over the lunch hour, this... I lived in Helena, Montana in the early 60s. The Parrot Confectionary was the place to go for an ice cream soda, a snack, and for the best chocolates in town. I had not visited Helena since I left this beautiful city in 1965. The Parrot is still the way I remember it. The place looks the same, the menu... More
