I lived in Helena since 1990 & have ridden the tour train more times than I can count. It is still fun & I love hearing the history of Helena still. It is fun to chime in too. I would recomend riding in the morning or on cooler days because it does get pretty hot around mid day in July.... More

We normally like to take tours at the beginning of our visit to determine where we want to spend more time. This tour provided this plus an entertaining ride. It is worth both the time and price to take this trip.

After touring the beautiful capital building, my husband and I boarded the Last Chance Tour Train for a tour of Helena. We were pleasantly surprised - the train was packed and our tour guide was not only informative, but very interesting. She was a native of Helena who had left and returned - was very enthusiastic about her town. We... More

Visiting Helena, this should be on your list of things to do. It is a pleasant way to learn a little history of Helena. The tour starts outside the Capitol building and takes you around the area known as the mansion district. Mining brought a lot of wealth to the area and this is where the fortunate ones built their... More

This is a great way to start when in Helena. You get an overview of the city that then lets you decide where to go to spend your time. Even better -- they give you the history of the city with a personal flair. A trip well worthwhile. Take it!!

The cost isn't bad and the tour guides are nice and informative. The tour brings you all over residential Helena, taking about the numerous 19th century mansions that are still in good shape today and various other buildings. I would recommend it as a starting point to figure out if there is anything else you would like to look into... More

This tour is an absolute must for visiting the Capital area. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their job. The train is a great novelty for the kiddos. I'd recommend bringing yourself a pillow for the ride though as the train is old so the seats aren't the most comfortable, especially if you have any orthopedic issues.

A good overview of the town and its history. The best part was that the history museum was free after our 3:00 tour

This never gets old for me, grew up riding on this tour train, if you're into history this is the perfect tour as it takes you all over the old part of Helena!
