We spent the day with MacNeil and while we didn't get to see any wolves, it wasn't for a lack of trying. MacNeil picked us up very early and had hot beverages and breakfast waiting. we then went to the Lamar Valley and watched a grizzly bear, waited for wolves, saw elk and pika. MacNeil knew our daughter wanted to... More

We started very early (5 am) with Cara to give ourselves a good chance of seeing wolves. Yellowstone at 5 am, with or without wolves, was memorably beautiful. As the morning proceeded we saw some interesting bird life, some bison, a distant grizzly, some amazingly distant mountain goats (Cara had three terrific 'spotoscopes' and showed us how to use them,... My husband and I visited Yellowstone during the second week of August 2015. MacNeil Lyons was our guide for the morning, and he was outstanding. We saw wolves and bears, which was amazing, but he was also kind and knowledgeable enough to serve us a fantastic breakfast at the base of a pile of rocks where a tiny rabbit relative... More

Our guide was MacNeil Lyons. MacNeil is an incredibly knowledgeable former Yellowstone Park Ranger. We met him at the Roosevelt Lodge turnout on August 10. From there we traveled west into the Lamar Valley, where wolves and bears had been feeding on a bison carcass. About a 10 minute walk put us in position to see grizzlies and grizzly cubs... More

Spent 8 incredible days in Yellowstone (August 2015) with my wife, two children and in-laws and was very fortunate to see many bears and other wildlife on our own. But in planning this 'bucket list' family trip I wanted to be sure we made the most of it and so I hired Wolf tracker guide service for a day and... More

Emil was our guide for a day of viewing wolves and other wildlife. It was a great experience, and I highly recommend it. Emil picked up our group of 5 at 5:30am. First, he took us to where a wolf pack was feeding on a bison carcass. There were several adult wolves and several cubs. They were about a half... More

Nathan Varley and his team of experienced and professional guides including Macneil and Nathan looked after us throughout our 4 day backpacking trek in the Yellowstone Wilderness in May 2014. This was one heck of a trip from beautiful valley's and gorges carved out in the ice age to mountainous lakes, canyons, creeks and rivers. Apparantly only 5% of visitors... More

My husband and I hired a guide for a day last week. It was expensive but enabled us to be much more wildlife aware for the remainder of our weeklong trip to Yellowstone. We ventured over to Hayden Valley from Gardiner early on Tuesday morning and our wonderful guide, Cara, had the scope out (excellent quality scopes for each of... More

A friend recommended The Wild Side/Wolftracker.com team to us and we booked two days with them as part of a four-day stay in Yellowstone (staying at Mammoth Hot Springs). We were fortunate enough to be assigned Bonnie who was the perfect guide, and really made our trip special. We tried to be flexible about what we saw and over the... More

We met our guide, Macneil, at the hotel as arranged at 5.00am, yes, AM, but it soon became apparent that an early start was well worthwhile to increase chances of seeing wildlife. Macneil is an enthusiast, and went to endless trouble to show us the park and much of the animals and birds in it. His knowledge of the park... More
