We really enjoyed this experience - something I've wanted to do for a long time! Our youngest daughter loved it (big dog lover) and wanted to move to Big Sky after the dogsledding. It was incredibly beautiful. The only caveat is the cost relative to the length of time. I have no problem spending money on great experiences, but this... More

Spirit of the North dog sledding was a first time experience for my wife and me and we were extremely glad that we took part in this adventure. After a orientation talk about the dogs and sled you are off on a terrific ride through a snowy landscape. You can just ride or you can take the opportunity to mush... More

Six of us decided to try dog sledding at Big Sky/Moonlight Basin this year, instead of snowmobiling in Yellowstone, for a day-off from skiing. What a delightful, surprising experience this was! The owners did an excellent job educating us on the history of dog sledding, the Alaskan Huskie breed, dog sledding techniques and racing in Alaska (Iditarod). We learned how... More

The dog sledding was the favorite part of our trip for me and my two kids (6&9). The views were beautiful and and it was very peaceful and quiet. My daughter got to drive with me while my son drove with a guide, JJ, and it was a great time. The kids helped hook the dogs to the sled before... More

They guides were helpful and Jim answered every question we had. The trip started with Jim telling us what to expect and how to handle the sled and the dogs. Then we got to help with harnessing the dogs and hooking them up to the sled. They were so anxious to take off that they jumped against the lines and... More

The GF and I went for the "1/2 day" trip which was really only about 75 minutes on the trail... that was really my only complaint, as $125 a person is a bit much for 75 min, based upon other outfitters I looked into across the region. We played with and helped get the dogs ready for about 45 min,... More

We had a great time driving the dog sled. We are 65 years old, driving for the first time, and had no problem. We both wanted to drive a sled and prior to arriving we told Connie, the owner, we "didn't share toys well' and would like to rent two sleds. Connie explained that unless we are experienced dog sled... More

I went on the dog sled adventure on Feb. the 14th. I was alone so i was put with one of the guides. A short distance down the trail one of the dogs started a tussle with the dog next to him. The guide braked and and got off the sled grabbed the dog and started kicking him and it... More

The staff was friendly, attentive, informative and helpful. It was certainly my highlight of my four day vacation in Montana. We arrived around 9:10am for our 9:30am scheduled time. We were immediately greeted by the staff and the greeter dogs. They were never too busy to answer any of our questions. When all the others arrived we were gathered together... More

My family just returned from a trip to Big Sky, MT and we participated in a dog sled excursion operated by Spirit of the North. It was an interesting experience but I don't think I would do it again. We had a wonderful sunny day and luckily the temperature was quite warm for a winter day in Montana (around 40... More
